Yes - I understand that. Shouldn`t they have to give the new tariff a different name?

Most suppliers don’t change the name. They differentiate tariffs by date or by version number.

Just tried to renew with Avro on Simple and Fixed from 18th June (our current Simple and Super Fixed finishes on the 17th) monthly payment going up from £72 to £83 a month but can`t find anything cheaper.

Got this message when I clicked on Renew Now...   has anyone else had this?  wondering if it might be blip and to try again tomorrow or
if the only way to change is to phone, I don`t want it to take effect until 18th June.    Many thanks x

Thank you for requesting your renewal

Unfortunately we were unable to renew your tariff.

I think the problem may be that the 18th June is in 56 days time and Avro won`t let you fix until 45 days ahead.

The snag is the tariff you are looking to renew on will probably be replaced by the time you reach 45 days.

You could try phoning and asking (if you can get through).

Thank you, I didn`t know there was a certain number of days before you could fix ahead. Why do they give you the opportunity to do this when their system won`t let you!!!   As I can`t do it at the click of a button I`ll just wait until I can as I have read about the problems some of you have had trying to phone them.  I am sure there will be another tariff coming out soon, will have to keep my fingers crossed it doesn`t increase any more as its already quite a jump from £72 to £83.

2010, the Avro site has let me renew today from 18th June, its increased to £84 a month from the £72 are currently paying as the amount of electricity I have used is slightly increased from a few weeks ago.  I will be checking every week to see if by chance they bring out any cheaper tariffs over the summer, but at the moment it is still cheaper than other quotes I have had.

I had the renew email yesterday and mine has gone from £61 to £74. I also checked and they were all more expensive. I just renewed with Avro in case they increase the price again. Mine starts 15th June.

millie, I havn`t had any email from Avro to renew, I didn`t know they sent these. I just kept looking to see what was around as I knew my current fix ran out next month and they came up the cheapest for a 12 month fixed.   Like you I have renewed but will keep checking to see if anything cheaper comes out as luckily we can leave without penalty if we want to

Did you renew online and was it the 45 day deadline as I thought.
My DD also went up to £75 a month and my new tariff starts on the 19th of this month.
If any lower tariff comes up with Avro, they do let you switch immediately without penalties.

Yes 2010 it is exactly 45 days today, thank you.  I have been logging on each day and this morning it worked.
I am assuming that as there are no exit fees with Avro, if a lower tariff comes out we can change in the same way.  Maybe someone might know the answer to this?  I will definitely be looking out for a lower tariff with them.
