Do these jeans eliminate the need for a diet?? Link please!
Not at all, they are a size up which I’m hoping will just eliminate the need for undoing my top button whilst eating Christmas dinner 🤣 The (I presume foreign translated) description on Amazon says the modern design makes you more attractive and charming…so I thought 🥳 that’ll do me (until after Christmas when I hope to get comfortably back in my other size 😬). The design is True Face, very cheap and cheerful. I’ve noticed a few good translated descriptions on Amzn and I love the failed photo shops on clothing where the model has one really thin arm or a tiny hand..hilarious.

  • hi
WW - yes i did buy the expensive boots via Quidco (i call it £co!).
There were lots of people not wearing masks in the shopping centre last night in contrast to the outdoor place i went on saturday where nearly everyone wore a mask, bizarre.  DD2 and i did not hang around, we both felt a bit uncomfortable and not too keen on crowds at the best of times :(
hope your jeans arrive in time for you to eat your xmas dinner in comfort  :D

Morning all 👋, still stuck inside but feeling a bit better, thanks for all your well wishes! £150 seems like a very low spending budget for 6 weeks, WW. Does that include things like petrol? I know I wouldn't be able to manage on that, then I'd take from the pots and feel guilty. I give myself a more generous allowance but manage to save a bit more from it as the month goes on.

One of my isolation projects has been knitting a vest for 8yo Teddy. I've nearly finished but it looks like a dog's dinner (as my Nana would say). She used to make it look so easy! I need to try and find a free and easy pattern to try again, it's a little bonus Christmas pressie so I don't have long. How's the crocheting? Enjoy the last-day feeling WW! Happy holidays tomorrow! 🎉
  • @elbree no I budget for diesel and birthday presents, pet food, etc. The £150 is just ‘whatever’ spending…books, sales, etc. I like to keep it tight and then take back and feel guilty 😬 This works better than giving myself more as I always see it as a target and get carried away, instead of sticking under budget and saving what’s left.
My knitting attempts have always been ‘embarrassing dish cloth’ level.
I haven’t started crocheting yet, but have been merrily watching tutorials I can’t quite remember 🤣
I’m glad you are feeling a bit better, hopefully you’ll be 100% for Christmas 🎄

I learnt crocheting from a childrens book (many years ago), but I'd tried adults books & always felt they missed bits out, whereas I think they think things through better when they are writing for children.  I must confess to finding the written word easier to get than a film though.  It all depends on how your mind works.
I was very lucky as both my grandmothers had talents in this direction.  You should have seen some of the ballgowns one grandmother made for my mother, talk about designer, that one taught me dressmaking & the other despite being crippled by arthritis used to knit, but she couldn't hold the needles, so they were bent tight under her arms.  The needles looked like the wooden bit of a bow only a bit more bent.  You couldn't do it now because they are all plastic, although I would still rather knit with metal ones.
  • @badmemory no seamstresses in my family tree unfortunately. I quite like YouTube beginner videos because you can pause and rewind a lot. That’s how I taught myself to quilt. I rarely listen to them with sound, I just watch them silently 😁

  • Oh no, I’ve been sold a pup! The jeans do not make me look more attractive and charming 😢😢 They appear to be exactly the same size as the 12’s I’m wearing, but labelled a 14 😡 Can I do them up?…yes, can I breathe in them?…just. Are they lovely and roomy and a size bigger than my ‘big’ 12’s…no 😢☹️
I’m sure they’ll get a lot of use when I’ve lost 5lbs, but not yet 😖
I’m off to sulk with my advent calendar chocolate….🍫
