A voice of dissent here, possibly playing devils advocate.  One lamp is broken.  Not two.  You therefore need one lamp. Assuming that you actually use both lamps for reading etc.    You are overspending on your personal budget - do you actually have the budget for a set of lamps?
Hi peb, welcome to my diary, it’s lovely to see you here 🧁. You are quite correct, just one is broken. We have had a mismatched pair for a few years now, so I will take this opportunity to get a matched pair, but it definitely won’t be this month and probably not next. It won’t come out of the personal budget, but the house budget…and a few things need to come out of that when it gets topped up again, before lamps do…or maybe I’ll earmark them as a Christmas present to us nearer the time. I will still enjoy shopping around for when it can happen though, I love a good online window shop 😁

  • Good morning and happy Friday 🎉☕️
A weekend to look forward to and less than a week to pay day now 😁 ideally I’d like to spend nothing between now and then. I’m itching to start my planner and have added bits in with various coloured pens, but won’t start until October. You add the dates in yourself and I don’t want to waste any pages by starting mid month. I may have added a few stickers too 😬
Today shouldn’t be a busy day, if I haven’t jinxed it, so I can do some catching up on things I haven’t had time for.
I think one of the scratching posts might arrive today. It’s always baffling when you order items together and they turn up in dribs and drabs.
I hope you all have fantastic and fabulous Fridays 🍫☕️📚🧁🌺
Cranky, I could do with a bit of your lemon cake for breakfast right now 🍰

Oh Smiggle is the devil's work! I must have spent £1000's in there on the 11yo. Our local one shut down during lockdown and she appears to have outgrown the shiny tat 🤣

I'd love a journal but to be honest I wouldn't know what to put in it.

  • I have never been near a Smiggle shop, so that’s a small blessing 😬 I’m not sure girls can ever completely outgrow the fancy stationery phase, we start off with a fancy pencil box, a 3D picture ruler and a smelly rubber and boom…a lifelong obsession 🤣

  • Agree with you WinterWarrior I just love beautiful stationery. (Or is it stationary can never remember)

The smiggle pencil boxes are a work of art, little places for everything, one of my dgds has one, but they are expensive.
