The lovely weather is here in the Midlands too ☀️

  • WinterWarrior- your planner looks divine, so I'm definitely not going to look at it, just drool over your photo, it's safer!

I'm a sucker for pretty notebooks, journals, planners etc and then don't use them - I don't like spoiling them lol so then I regift them at a later date. So I buy two A5 diaries from the card fact and use one for writing in and the other for appts, places I have to go, things I have to remember etc. I have a lovely notebook that one dd bought me years ago and I look at it occasionally but never written in it!

Good morning and happy Thursday 📚🍫☕️🌺
Oh my goodness @beanielou Miss S is gorgeous 🥰
@nannygladys I love a good notebook and am very, very fond of Peter Pauper Press. I do keep and stroke the shiny ones, but will use them for lists and records. I have one for recording all the books I read, etc.
I’m jealous of all your good weather. It’s blowing a gale here. I did like all the leaves on the grass when I was out with dog in the garden yesterday though, it felt lovely and autumnal.
My oldest cat, the one with liver problems, was looking for plastic to chew yesterday and managed to knock off and smash a table lamp. We have one at either side of the couch where we sit, on end tables, so I’ll need to get a matching pair before the nights draw in. They all seem rather expensive ☹️
I am hoping for a no spend day today. As yesterday was ruined anyway I also ordered the pet food for October, it’s a large spend, but I have it allocated in October’s money, so will pay it straight back at the end of the month. I’m trying to get to a point where I don’t order it until I’ve been paid, but they always seem to run out of something or other early 😖
I hope you all have a thoroughly tremendous Thursday, full of all good things 📚☕️🧁🍰🍫🌸

Whoops re the lamps. Bet that made  you all jump! Especially the cat. Not sure where to say for lamps, as know you don’t have a lot of physical choice of shops. Sounds lovely, sofa with matching end tables and lamps. I’m imagining you on a Knole sofa now. Now we know why you need the end table, to hold the choc,  journals, choc, coffee, choc,  cake, and choc.

theres another rabbit hole with the Peter Pauper website .....

have  a good day with those, and those things, you love 😼😻🍮🍫🍩📒📚📖

Try The Range or Dunelm for lamps? If nothing else the eiffel tower one will give you a good laugh. The trouble with lamps here is that when I'm actually looking for one I can't find a decent one then I find one that I really like later when I've already spent money on something that wasn't what I really wanted. I found a lovely bedside lamp in the Range sale last month, 18 months after I decorated my bedroom and made do with a new shade for my old lamp base (which was a "make do" from the time before) so for the grand total of £8 for both shade and base I treated myself.

I'm on the "use up" with my notebook stash. I was wondering what I'd write in a diary and I'm thinking that a food record may be useful or interesting to look back on. I made lemon cake for the first time ever yesterday and so wish I'd made it before, If I include recipes for new dishes it could actually be useful when the HT is older. There is zero chance of me writing anything personal in one as that leaves it to be read by other people although I read the ones that the late MrC left behind and his are mostly about beer.

I have some Nigella  books so I'll look for that one thanks. I'm never going to be a domestic goddess though....

A voice of dissent here, possibly playing devils advocate.  One lamp is broken.  Not two.  You therefore need one lamp. Assuming that you actually use both lamps for reading etc.    You are overspending on your personal budget - do you actually have the budget for a set of lamps?
