How Worried Should I be? Should I change Passport No etc? Scammed by Driving Licence 3rd Party.

No - it's been outlined by several posters including myself - there's no reason here to report them to action fraud. If they had been major data leakers - I'm sure by now it'd be all over the news - they're just a company - like any other company - but have managed to wangle their business model to take advantage of people that are tired/not paying attention/clicking the first result on google. They may not have the greatest business ethics - but they've done nothing inherently wrong.Foresty_Forest said:Concerning data/identity theft, can I take preemptive action? Note for future use.Foresty_Forest said:
It was a renewel, and no it wasn't obvious, I was tired and rushing because my licence was out of date.
Do not do anything like this when is such a state....
As @AdrainC said. It is obvious when making the purchase just what the cost is. So why enter card no, then click submit when it was so clear as to the cost.
I wish I had a £ for every time I have heard that excuse when speaking to customers on these sites.. It would be like winning the lottery
If these are scam sites, then how do you feel about the post office, who do exactly the same thing and charge for the service?Life in the slow lane0 -

So, if I understand correctly, you want to report a legitimate company, to whom you freely supplied your personal data, to AF in case they should sell it on?Foresty_Forest said:Concerning data/identity theft, can I take preemptive action? On that basis, you should report your bank/employer/energy provider etc as well. Just in case.No free lunch, and no free laptop

No those entities are not tricking you into handing over your details; rather different.

@HansOndabush, there is no "trickery", the site is very clear about the service they offer.4

So clear in fact that lots of people still get tricked into paying for something that should be free.The_Fat_Controller said:@HansOndabush, there is no "trickery", the site is very clear about the service they offer.0 -
@HansOndabush, have you seen the website in question.
It's obvious that they make a charge for their services along with the official fees, how anyone could miss that is beyond me.2 -
There are scam websites that attempt to pass themselves off as DVLA. The Licence Safe website does not, so it's not a scam. They are offering a service, albeit one that the vast majority of people can do for themselves, and are entitled to charge for that service. The OP does not need to start cancelling passports and such like, they just need to concentrate better next time. Mark it down to experience.2

You're very mistaken. Believe me it was very easy to be on the authentic DVLA site and find then find yourself landing on the application form page of Licenesafe and not be aware of it. For one thing the DVLA form page has poor graphics itself, so not easy to distinguish between the two.The_Fat_Controller said:@HansOndabush, have you seen the website in question.

It wasn't until I'd submitted that I was aware of being fleeced for £93.
