Is this a scam?

Hi all

Just very concerned about this message.
A friend of mine is convinced this Is legit.
I don't trust it!.
I'd be very grateful of opinions please


'Do you remember me telling you that i lost money with a scam trading company?

Well for the past 5 months after engaging a legal firm they were taken to court in Dubai and my legal team won for me and others.

I was awarded nearly 5 times my initial investment.

As expected the crooks appealed but lost and i was awarded another 75% in damages.

Now because that takes it over a certain amount  i have to go to the Dubai court to receive my payment.

When i paid my original court fees i took out insurance so the trips are fully paid for flights, hotel, taxis and tests.

So i have to go to the court in Dubai to get my cheque.

I need to travel with a companion and i would like you to go with me.

All the flights and hotels will be expensed including any PCR tests.

Everything  will be organised by the legal people.'

My friend has been dealing with a company called Payback Money and their legal team.
He say's he has contacts from European Central Bank. He contacted this company because he was being ripped off!

All that is missing is that they sweeten the deal a little by saying that the travelling companion will become the official owner of the Burj Khalifa

What you don't mention is the relationship of the sender to the recipient. Obviously if the recipient does not know the sender, it's a scam. 
If, on the other hand they do, the interesting question is why is someone known to them is almost certainly trying to scam them.

I can imagine the next email if they accepted:

Hi,
It's great that you've decided to come. All you need to do is send me the £300 documentation fee and we're all set.

Why would they pay two people to take a return flight when they could just wire the money? What type of insurance covers you for just in case you WIN a court case? People get robbed and killed turning up to this type of thing. Wikipedia says:

"Some 419 scams involve even more serious crimes, such as kidnapping or murder. One such case, in 2008, involves Osamai Hitomi, a Japanese businessman who was lured to Johannesburg, South Africa and kidnapped on September 26, 2008. The kidnappers took him to Alberton, south of Johannesburg, and demanded a $5 million ransom from his family"

I can't find any link to PAYBACK MONEY. There is Payback Ltd  and Moneyback Ltd.

After a bad report on Trustpilot 3 days ago there   are 6 reports praising them from 2 days ago.
