Any one else noticed hardly any houses on the market for sale

I am finding the same where we are. We are wanting to move on from our FTB home but there is virtually nothing coming on within that bracket. Everything coming on the market is either new builds, first time buyer homes or mansions.

It is not about distance it's about time. I commuted 10 miles to my secondary school which took 45 minutes train then short walk at both ends . My 2nd and 3rd jobs I commuted 25 miles,  motorways against the flow of traffic so took around half an hour. 

Exactly this. Our old house was 6 miles from where we work. But the commute took us right across the city. Journey time was usually around an hour. 

We now live 22 miles from work. The route to work is free flowing traffic for it's entirety. Journey time is now 40 minutes.

I live 3 miles from work, a 5 minute commute. Work full time.

Kids have a 20 minute walk to school. No childcare costs because of this.

No way we'd move miles away for me to have to start paying childcare costs again AND increased petrol/maintenance on the car, plus decreased quality of life for them and us due to a really late return home from the increased commute 😄

Husband works central London so only me to deal with ensuring kids can get to and from school.

So we shall continue looking at a 5 mile radius of where we currently live 😊
