I am finding the same where we are. We are wanting to move on from our FTB home but there is virtually nothing coming on within that bracket. Everything coming on the market is either new builds, first time buyer homes or mansions.

Dropping the budget down to what I actually decided to set when looking there's 714 properties within a 40 mile radius.
That's just on one platform, let alone checking others.
Options are keep looking in whatever radius you've set, or extend your radius like some of us did.
40 miles is a MASSIVE search area! 😂
We now live 22 miles from work. The route to work is free flowing traffic for it's entirety. Journey time is now 40 minutes.1 -

Kids have a 20 minute walk to school. No childcare costs because of this.
No way we'd move miles away for me to have to start paying childcare costs again AND increased petrol/maintenance on the car, plus decreased quality of life for them and us due to a really late return home from the increased commute 😄
Husband works central London so only me to deal with ensuring kids can get to and from school.
So we shall continue looking at a 5 mile radius of where we currently live 😊0
