The 84 months is my aim, not what the mortgage currently says... I must work hard to achieve this!

How much extra do you need to find each month to make it a reality - forgive me if you have already said this.

I could do it if I saved and overpaid consistently but I seem to squander money on stupid things. If I overpaid £300 a month and saved £200 this would be possible but then I see pretty things…

How long do you like the pretty things? Could you have a pretty things budget and OP/ save the rest?  That way you aren't saying no to what you want just not yet... Or I want freedom more

I think realistically I can’t afford the pretty things if I want to retire at 60 - 84 months is just ahead of this. They will have to come out of my new fun budget or through overtime. I really don’t need them though it’s just convincing myself of this. I have way too many clothes for someone who spends seven days out of fourteen in uniform. Plan is to get selling again and reclaim my space, make some money and make seeing my wardrobe much easier!

I am aiming not to buy any new clothes for the first six months of next year.

I find breaking my goal down into chunks works for me. So as I've put on my diary - trying to follow the make £10 a day challenge to see if I can bring in any extra funds. I've been surprised at how easy some of it has been - but know it will get harder as I work through the easiest offers. I'm also amused as my credit report has dropped me 20 points for credit searches but thinks I have no mortgage - even though I filled in a questionnaire that told them about my new mortgage... I was planning to cancel a couple of cards but I have misplaced both of them in the last couple of weeks so will have to wait until I find them again!!!

Are there any easy offers you could take advantage of to bring in some extra dosh?

I used to do that challenge when in DFW but haven’t lately I will get back on it!

I did get £56 from t0pca$h back this month but don’t use it as much as I have a discount card (similar to nhs) so it usually works out better than going through from there.

I think I am going to try deferring my spending and if I still want something a week later then I may consider spending from the fun funds.
