Something for later in the year then, hopefully when the weather is warmer.savingholmes said:I love the seaside. There is a paddle boarding place at a lake within a short drive for me - so I could put that on the bucket list. Happy New Year everyone!
Mine has not been off to a great start as we have the lurgy, yes it got me at last and I am in c0vid prison for the rest of this week. However I have no symptoms so things could be a whole lot worse. I am going to take this as an opportunity to tidy up a bit and get my life in order. And also to eat out of the freezer and cupboards...
Another month another payment to the mortgage, my signature is going mortgage year to mortgage year so I have until May to reach my overpayment target.Mortgage OP 2026 £1940/2000Mortgage balance: £29,366

Sorry you tested positive - but glad things aren't worse. I too am in covid prison as you know due to DD. Technically I think I'm allowed out as I keep testing negative and had all 3 jabs but would hate to give it anyone... I'm craving a pub meal right now - just to get out - but need to wait until after payday money wise anyway.
Well done on the mortgage payment and sorting your life out. It all helps.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality

Thanks, that's the thing I could be really ill so it's not so bad really. We have just had a change to policy though so I only have two days to go now instead of five! I really need to get tidying...Mortgage OP 2026 £1940/2000Mortgage balance: £29,366

Do you think there are some people somewhere who do actually finish tidying? That’s what I want to be when I grow up!savingholmes said:When you've finished tidying - plenty left here...Mortgage OP 2026 £1940/2000Mortgage balance: £29,366

@Fortune_Smiles seems pretty good at tidying and cleaning - but there are enough people on here that sound more like me that I don't feel too out of place. My lounge is in that messy middle. 5 boxes of stuff on the go that I'm decluttering into and still plenty left to go. I have an empty bureau that I'm still deciding what to put inside it though.
If I wasn't in COVID prison I'd be putting some of it on FB, taking it to a CS or the tip... So at the moment feeling quite stuck but don't want to 'tidy it away' aka hide it - as that way I will never let it go.
My Xmas decs are still up. They took me so much effort to put up. TBF we quite often leave some up until the end of Jan as it can be a dark, depressing month otherwise. If it makes the neighbours talk that's on them.

See when I said there was a change in policy...turns out it only applied to new cases! Still in jail, two more days to go.
