Adding lock to gate that is "half" on neighbour's RWP

  • And yes we don't leave the dog on her own, the difficulty is even if we open the door and she runs out we can't be sure the garden gate is shut as it's just out of sight around the corner
Asking for the third time - why can't you secure your garden separately from that shared gate?
Even if your friendly neighb has a RoW, it sounds as tho' they'd be happy to use a key/share a code number and pass through 2 gates with their refuse if needed.
Mind you, I think you mentioned that even they were prone to leaving the gate swinging open at times?!

Shared access and RoWs are a pain.

Hi Jeepers, sorry for not replying - always appreciate your help.

We could do, but the right of way that the unfriendly neighbour has extends beyond the extension, so it could be a rather interesting setup of fence and gate, plus it's all on flag stone style patio so that's another faff.

If this all goes really mad and becomes a pain then that's probably the backup plan, though yes the friendly neighbours workmen and friends etc forgetting to shut the gate is still a problem. But the spring and latch should help, will sort that this weekend.
