Isn't this another one about the scam no stopping zone in Piccadilly, Manchester?  If so, the group thread about that place answers all your questions.

Or is Birchin Way another brand new scam no stopping zone?

Grimsby - I see your thread title tells us (sorry, missed that)!

Double red lines or double yellows?
Its double yellows. As a Taxi, its feasible to be picking up because a lot of the time, you cannot turn right because of the queuing traffic.
Any photos?  Are there Local Authority signs alongside and referencing those DYLs?  Do you have photos showing the UKCPS signage distribution and contents detail?

That sign is what is known as a forbidding sign.

A driver cannot agree a contract for something that is forbidden.

And keep in mind... stopping is not parking. So how can they even suggest that by stopping, a 'parking charge' is payable?

Are there any other signs with different wording? Perhaps with more comprehensive T&Cs?
The charge will relate to a contractual license rather than a simple contract i.e motorists are welcome to use the land on the proviso that they do not stop.

’Parking Charge’ is a generic term used by POFA.
In which case the charge is not a contractual charge, but a disguised penalty.
    Nope, breach of contractual license.
Let's see what a Judge makes of it. I mean the PPC has a shedload of opportunities to put their case in front of a Judge emanating from Piccadilly in Manchester, so let's see if they dare risk it!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Good Morning,
I received the usual threat from some Herberts today. My previous appeals werent 'received' apparently. However, i did make one error and sent my appeal by proof of posting, rather than recorded delivery.

Proof of posting (from a Post Office counter) is the correct way to send things. Sending anything signed for would be a mistake. (I don't believe recorded delivery exists anymore).

The unregulated PPC could refuse to sign for something and would then have proof that it was never received, which is why it is always advised to send everything from a PO and getting a free proof of posting. The Interpretation Act then assumes it will have been received after two working days for first class and four working days for second class.

We don't need to see DRP letters.  See the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread!

    Good Evening,

This was received a few days ago after four final reminders. I'm not sure if this is a letter before claim or just another demand from a partner...

It looks like a glorified debt collectors (reminder) letter as it only gives 14 days to respond.  Put it in the "take no action" pile.

As above, just more DC rubbish as they don't give 30 days to pay and haven't included the relevant forms that should normally come with an LBC.

PS - your redactions of your name and address aren't the best - they're still readable. ;)

    You can ignore that.
