No hot water with Ecodan heat pump.

I am disabled and through a scheme had Mitsubishi Ecodan installed last week. It took two and a half days and to be honest the electrician didn't seem to no what he was doing. Anyway, the heating is up and running albeit oddly. The biggest issue is no hot water. When the system started up yesterday for the first time the water switched to legionnaire mode. The electrician cancelled it. A while later he came to me and said he had switched the water of at the switch and when it hit 50 degrees on the display to switch it back on. I am still waiting and the temperature has gone above 12. One of the rads is not working and the heating has been on since before 9am. The main control panel has a LG flashing top left but can't find out anything on it. The manuals give basic set up but that's it.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

The obvious answer is for you to call him back and sort it out, however have a look here as there are a few videos that might help you understand what is going on. https://www.aosheatpumps.co.uk/homeowner-help
It's really not very easy to diagnose a problem when we really dont know how its been set up or even which Ecodan you've got and what sort of heating and controls (its much like asking "what is the tyre pressure on a Ford" - not enough info)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
On my heat pump Legionella mode uses the heat pump to heat the tank to a little above 50 C but then the immersion heater to take it up to 60 C and hold it there for a while. If LG stands for Legionella and it is flashing then my guess would be that your electrician did not cancel it and you should turn whatever switch he used back on. But that's purely a guess.Reed0

My immersion heater has a switch controlled by the heat pump controller but it also had a pre-existing switch that I could control via WiFi. The electrician originally installed the two switches in series and had to come back to re-connect them in parallel. I think he was just following the wiring diagrams supplied, without much insight. Thankfully, the plumber who installed the heat pump knew what he was doing.Reed0

Hi everyone and thanks for your replies. Guess I'll be getting them back in on Monday. The flashing symbol is JL NOT JG (my mistake) I have no idea the model which I agree would be handy but I can't get the water to up and am back to heating from a gas cooker. I' m really regretting get this installed. It's one disaster after another 😡
I found the Model number....PUZ-WM112VAA-BS (H) Does this help.

My heat pump installation got off to a shaky start because it stopped working after a few hours; that turned out to be a blocked filter. But the plumber who did the installation was very good and came back to fix the problem very promptly. Since then it has been fine. "One disaster after another" sounds as if the hot water issue is not the first problem you encountered.Reed0

Hi Reed_Richards It certainly wasn't. My heating was being installed through Warmworks and a local company was to install it. It was to start last month but was cancelled due to parts not arriving. It was then started last Monday. They disconnected our old solid fuel boiler, took out radiators then got a phone call saying the stuff wasn't coming. The whole job was cancelled they fault apparently Warmworks as they supply the system and it hadn't come. They reinstalled our old system but due to the age it refused to restart so was left with no heating or hot water and no word when they were coming back.
We got a visit from Warmworks the next morning, the man very confused as to why we were supposed to be getting our heating installed and no-one was there. My husband explained and the man was extremely unhappy over the mess and leaving us with no heating. He went down to their office and surprise I got a phone call that evening saying my heating had arrived and was getting done the next morning. I would have double crew (6 men) and they would work Saturday if they had to. By Friday, There was 9 men, no Saturday work and it had to be done that day. They were finished by midday with a brief explanation of how to shut it down from the outside button if needed and nothing more, except to leave the hot water of till it heats to 50 then switch it on. My heating comes on a 6am stays on all morning then barely at all for the rest of they day. I have looked at the schedule in the instructions but should I be playing with this controller right now.
I'm unsure about the Electrician as he seemed confused on how to set it up. In fact, when wiring the system to the mains he disconnected out electric show by wiring the cables back to front. it all seemed rather rushed and slap happy and I'm still insure who was to blame with the delay.
Bit of a rant (Sorry) I feel better now.0 -
That was worth getting off your chest! According to the Warmworks website they get a contractor to do the installation, then come and inspect it, then you complete a customer satisfaction survey. So I guess you are waiting for the inspection, when, hopefully, someone will tell you how to operate your system. In the mean time you should be able to heat your water just using your immersion heater. That's more expensive than using the heat pump but probably worth it to see you through the weekend.Reed0

Wish I could use immersion but yes its very expensive plus the disconnected it and put a faceplate on it. My Solid fuel stove struggled to run the heating but it did give us hot water and kept the kettle warm. We have bottle gas on our cooker so fingers crossed that doesn't run out before Monday as nothing is open here till then.
One question, The master controller has a schedule setup, what is it for?0 -
You, me and everybody else wants to be able to use their immersion heater if their boiler (or heat pump) is not working. Even if you can switch it on via the heat pump that's no good if the heat pump controller is not responding or if it is powered down. So if your switch has been removed insist that it goes back and connects directly to the immersion heater. If there is some other wiring controlled via the heat pump controller, that must be split-off on the fuse box side of your switch. That's what worked for me. Fortunately I found out about the problem very earlier on so my installer was able to call his electrician to come straight back and fix it.Reed0

If the Immersion can connect to the new system that's great but if it needs the immersion tank, they took that out.
Will call them Monday morning and insist they come out, set it properly and actually explain using it a bit better.
