Been to best and final a few times, few times had a viewing booked only for it to be sold before I even get a chance to view. I refresh rightmove all day and half the time when I go to book they're already full for the first slots and we have to wait another day. It's so so disheartening.
Anyone got tips for buying in a buoyant market, at this point I'm considering making offers without a viewing
Patinece you wont be the only person who feels this way
Have you sold your property? If not maybe sell now and rent so your more appealing to sellers?1 -

What I find intriguing is that loads of MSEers can’t find a house to buy and loads who have a house to sell can’t find a buyer.Perhaps MSE could set up a matchmaking service12

Having the same difficulty in Oxfordshire/Warwickshire - been looking since January and honestly found it soul destroying.

Come to London and look for a flat without a garden - you can practically name the price!

It is nothing new in Sheffield! We had the same problem when we were buying there in 2007.
My advice would be to cast the net further afield and look at some of the villages surrounding Sheffield. We moved out to Gateford a couple of years ago and love it. You get far more house for your money out here.
Yes our commute to work in Sheffield is more distance, 22 miles instead of 6 miles, but actually we have found that it takes no longer in time because we are not stuck in traffic getting across the city. Train links back into the city are excellent. It is 15 minutes into Sheffield Centre and costs about £6 return.

We have definitely been finding this in Cornwall and suspect it is only going to get worse once people are allowed to come down and stay.We have found that you need to get a viewing on the first available day or it will sell before your appointment. We have also found following some of the agents on YouTube helps as the video tours come on before the property gets to Rightmove or on their websites. We have now had an offer accepted but went 10% over asking price to get it. This does seem a bit insane but we can afford it, suitable houses don’t come up in our preferred village very often (around 6 a year) and prices have risen in Cornwall by 13.5% in the last year so it kind of made sense.
I guess this is how bubbles happen! Only time will tell but hopefully we will be happily living there for the next 40 years and won’t need to care what the house is worth.
Good luck to those looking - you will find something eventually!0
