So now I have a house with minimal contents and it’s making me rethink my life and my consumption of material products. Most of what was taken has been in boxes for a while and I don’t think I’ll miss much of it so more clearing out when I get my new house.
I did purchase a key safe so that when I need to hand over this house I can put a key safely aside for them. It was on a flash sale and also offered a discount so I hope it does the job.
Absolutely recommend doing that... I still have stuff to sort through here after my madly disorganised move and am going to really try to do better next time!
Interested to hear about the key safe, I was just wondering about something like that myself for emergencies.  Is it one you have screwed to the outside wall, or hide, or something different?

@R@RosaBernicia it's on the rain forest site.  Do a search for Combination Key Lock Box, and with the promotions it was £8.06.  The cheapest I've seen by a few £'s.  You can screw to a wall, or hide it somewhere as it's not huge. I just wanted something cheap and effective as my house sale is with an online company and so I don't have an Estate Agents to drop the keys off to.
Thanks @MuffinTops .  I think I'll get something like that as it would solve a couple of issues here - I'd feel safest with it screwed to a wall but hopefully that should be doable.  I don't know my neighbours well enough yet that I'd feel comfortable giving them keys, but a combination could go to my emergency contact and then anyone who needs to know could have it.

You're very welcome.  It's a good idea in an emergency and I'm thinking of getting myself one for the new house too.  MTxx

It's so weird living in a house that is no longer a home.  I'm actually now looking forward to the weekend when I can do a big cleaning blitz though.

I popped to the shops before work this morning and didn't spend any budget money as I still have vouchers.  I've got at least one more voucher shop, but I'm going to try to drag it out to two if I can.  I've also bought clothes on those last 2 shopping trips, but shouldn't need to do that again which will help to keep the spend amount minimal.

No financial surprises, so still going well.  It's just the first few months I expect to find things I forgot about.  It's also nice seeing my yearly payments account (for things like insurances, MOT etc) having money in there.  I'm only about £20 ahead of budget for the daily spends, but I'm really hoping to pull that back further so that I have some money to squirrel away at the end of this month.

Great news about completion MT 😼👍🥂
I can't remember what the plans are now . Staying at your folks while you look for another place ?
Good luck with finding launderette 🧺
I wouldn't worry about the junk food etc , as you're unsettled at present . 🍟🍕
Hope the week is going well ..

Thank you 😃. I move out of my house on Monday afternoon!  Mixed feelings, but overall feel like it's a great thing.

Thanks AC.  Yes, I'll be staying with my Mum while my house sale goes through.  I found a decent launderette last night which was half the price of the other one, so that was a good find.

I managed to get a fair bit sorted last night - well a fair bit based on it being a work day.  Tonight I'm hoping to do a bit more.
I've booked the last clearance pick up. This is for the furniture etc that I've needed to still use while I'm here as well as the last bits from the loft.  I hadn't realised how much was left in the loft, but it's all bagged up now and ready to go.
The hotel is now arranged for Monday evening too, so that once the clearance company have been I should be done.  I added a cheeky extra night for Sunday too, in the hope of a decent night's sleep (the sofa isn't comfortable anymore) and to keep my belongings out of the way.
I've cancelled all of my utilities, set up the Royal Mail redirect and am now going through to update my home address on as many things as possible.

All supermarket vouchers were used up yesterday, but I've just had the next batch arrive from my usual supermarket so hopefully have enough for at least one more decent shop again.

Financially there are no surprises, although I did stupidly pay for the hotel out of my grocery money 🙈.  If I'm careful the next few days then it should just be a glitch rather than an issue.

OK, I need to crack on again and get myself organised.  Happy Hump Day all.
