I slid my heaviest boxes (my old vinyl collection!) into an empty duvet cover and lowered them down from the loft that way! I'm not sure I could recommend it as a method, I was panicking throughout that they'd slip and drag me down with them... Good luck with your toads and loads of empathy, clearing my loft when I moved was a veritable nightmare I never want to repeat!

You really get it Forging_Ahead.  I'm in a panic every time I have to bring things down.  Has it made you more mindful of what you put in your new loft?  I'm hoping it'll have that effect on me.

Today is productive, but those frogs are still marinating in procrastination.  I am about to go and sort under the bed shortly, but the loft will be a tomorrow job as I don't like going up there after a shower and as I have to present a show at the hospital this evening I don't have time to shower later either.

I've stripped the bed (making it easy to get under it now the fringe is out of the way).  I've put one load of clothes washing on so far, been food shopping, had breakfast and also went to Ikea to pick up some cheap zip up bags to add material items to.  2 large ones for my bed covers and 4 smaller ones for my clothes.  I've also requested a new passport as my last one ran out last year.  It's such an easy process now as the photo goes from the machine in the supermarket straight online for the passport company to pick up.  The photo is shocking, but it is what it is!

YNAB only had a couple of direct debits to authorise, and the above shopping to add.  I thought I was doing well with all the NSD's, but after buying the above I'm only around £10 ahead of myself now.  However, I should have enough food for the week, and am hopeful I'll have some left over at the end of the month to squirrel away.

    So today I need to:
    - Get under the bed cleared.
    - Wash and dry bedclothes
    - Put freshly washed bedclothes back on the bed
    - Start putting material items into bags for storage
    - Check the songs I want to play on my show for any "controversial" lyrics
    - Send my friend's birthday card to her (can do that from the hospital)
    - Send my old passport back to the passport office for them to cancel it.
    - Log onto my work account for an hour to see if I can complete a task that needs to be finished today.

I think that's going to the best I can do for today.

Frog 1 awaits.  I will hopefully be back to cross things off the list later.

    Happy Friday everyone.

    MTx

Good luck with the frogs 🐸🐸
Hope the radio show goes well . 🎤🎧
When sending old passport back, make sure you use "signed for" delivery although you probably know that anyway .
    Keep going ..

    So today I need to:
    - Get under the bed cleared.
    - Wash and dry bedclothes (part 1 is drying. part 2 is in the wash)
    - Put freshly washed bedclothes back on the bed
    - Start putting material items into bags for storage I've started that, but still a few more to sort.
    - Check the songs I want to play on my show for any "controversial" lyrics
    - Send my friend's birthday card to her (can do that from the hospital) forgot the card, but posted Saturday morning
    - Send my old passport back to the passport office for them to cancel it.
    - Log onto my work account for an hour to see if I can complete a task that needs to be finished today.

So Frog 1 is done.  Phew.  If this move has taught me anything it's that I'm a terrible housekeeper!  Why haven't I tried to get to these bits before in my standard housekeeping routine?  That frog was very salty!  I hope I'm learning lessons here with things like adding items to the loft and hiding things away under the bed.

I've just logged onto work and am unable to do the work I need to as the bits I need haven't been fixed yet.  I don't think I can log on again this weekend.

So next job to tackle is check the music I've set up for this evening.  I should find some things to talk about too!

Edit: I will have to finish bed clothes tonight when I get home. I’m pleased with how much I’ve managed to cross off today’s list though.

Thanks AC.  Frog 1 has been tackled.  Tomorrow is the turn of Frog 2.
I agree that sending my passport back using a signed for delivery is the best idea.  Thank you for confirming that.
I do love the radio shows, but I could do with the time more at the moment.  But I have a clear weekend, so that's a bonus.
    Have a great weekend...

Why do we do it to ourselves? I have no idea how my house managed to store so much rubbish. Do we go blind to it, or are we just able to pack it away so we’ll that it’s all hidden away?
Good luck with your house move.

I've been shopping this morning and the bill was over £50 as I bought a few clothing items.  I used vouchers that I had so everything was sort of free.  I did also buy food and some bits and pieces for the removal guys on Monday.  Just normal tea 🫖 (I've been drinking the biscuit tea and toast & jam tea which they may not like), milk 🥛, biscuits🍪, fizzy drink🥤 and crisps.  All unopened for them so they don't need to worry about infectious diseases! 😷

YNAB has been checked and no surprises there.

My show went ok. I'm going to miss it when I can't get there anymore.  I can still do some recordings though, so that's a bonus.

Right, onto the day.  I'm just preparing some food as I've not eaten yet, then I need to get on with today's jobs.  Writing a list yesterday really helped, so I think I should do it again today.  My bin men are on full strike action now, so no bins at all are being emptied for 3 weeks 🙈  As the loft contents are likely all rubbish, I'm going to go up there in the morning otherwise it'll just be rubbish getting in the way.

    So today I need to:
    • Box up the office
    • Take what I'm keeping from the office into the living room (work laptop, personal laptop, small amount of stationery)
    • Box up my bedroom
    • Take what I'm keeping from the bedroom into the living room (clothes I need and toiletries I need)
    • Box up the spare big bedroom
    • Bag up the rest of the material items
    • Put all boxes out of the way
Happy Saturday all.  I hope it's a great weekend for you.
