  • Thank you peb.  I have no intention of using my car until it's been looked at but I really appreciate you checking in.  I can't currently deal with it myself as I can't get the bonnet open, otherwise I'm pretty good at keeping it maintained myself.  The bonnet problem is apparently a standard issue with my car and another model with the same make that I hadn't been aware of.

It's payday tomorrow and I've managed to set up YNAB as fully as possible - again!  I have to stop using it sporadically and then needing to set up a fresh start!  It's a waste of time and pointless if I can't get the correct stats together.  Good habits are needed here.

The gluten free experiment seems to be going well.  I say seems to be as it is early days, but I don't feel bloated or heavy after eating anything gluten free - even the crumpets (which are amazing).  I just need to see the bloating calm down over time to know that it's really working.

When I opened the curtains today the sky was such a beautiful blue it put me in the best mood.  It's still a gorgeous blue, but lots of grey clouds overhead now too.  The good part of that is that it stops the sun blinding me while I'm trying to work.

I hope everyone is having a happy hump day!

  • Good on you for going for the gluten free experiment MT 😼
I have been doing this for a while. What I find with gluten free bread🥖 , is that there is very little of it and it is more expensive 😾
I do all of my food shopping 🛒online since last year 😷. What happens at times is that the substitutions are sometimes not good when out of stock etc.
This has made me revert back to ( good quality ) whole meal bread .🥖
Mr trainer 🏋️‍♀️Is trying to stop my bread intake . Oh, well..
    keep going ..
  • Thanks AC.  The muffins, for me, are a great bread/sandwich substitute although I have some gluten free bread in the freezer that I'm going to try later today, toasted.  I'll let you know how I get on and what the bread make is if it's not too small.  Online shopping has really taken off, but in the past I also found the substitutions a bit hit and miss, and also the sell by dates too, so I prefer to go shopping myself.  Good luck with trying to cut down on your bread!  How does something like bread get us all so addicted?
  • YNAB is all set up and as I got paid today I decided to get as much done as possible.  I've paid lots of bills, but had to set them up as being paid tomorrow to keep them in the October budget.  I had my car tax to pay which I'd forgotten about, but as I want to sell my car soon I've just paid for the 6 months rather than a year.

There's a lovely clothes shop in my little town, so I've budgeted for a couple of their long sleeve tops too.  I don't have many clothes for winter at the moment, so a few items each month should keep me ticking over and is something I've always been bad on with keeping a decent wardrobe maintained.  I also want to get some exercise clothes, but that may need to come out of my personal budget, depending on how careful I am with that this month.

It's really cold today, so I may be adventurous and light my new fire!  Ooh the decadence!

    Happy Thursday

YNAB is up to date and on track.  I need to calm down on the grocery shopping though as I've already spent almost half of the budget.  It's all decent food and will last, but not half the month!  I've been trying to find decent sized supermarkets fairly close to me, and have found some lovely places, but then get carried away with buying things while I'm there.

My weekend was pretty good.  I took a drive to a new huge retail park that opened up fairly recently.  It's about an hour away from me.  It's a really nice drive to get there too, so I think I'll visit there whenever I need something in particular.  They also had the 3 main supermarkets there or nearby too, which is a bonus.  I was pretty good, although I did buy a few dog toys for my Mum's dog, but they were only £4.50 for 3 of them.  I have to get cheap toys as her only goal is to kill them, so they only last a few minutes.  If I get her something that can withstand her attacks she gets bored with it quite quickly.  It's funny to watch her sussing it out though and changing her methods.

I managed to spend a lot of my weekend in my workshop.  I love it in there, but it's feeling really cluttered.  At some point I need to get in there and clear out the boxes the machines and packing were in, and also the dodgy cupboards they left behind which are falling apart.  It was so much fun though, just being able to play around in there, and all the crafting I was able to do.

Well, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and enjoying the week so far.

    Hi MT

I've just been looking at options for cheap dog toys - BM has them, so do A, and there's a group on That Social Media That Fell Over Yesterday called "Beyond the Bowl" with suggestions for homemade and freezable things.  Mine often gets a filled frozen Kong, but we might also try out the bell peppers!

    Hurrah for crafting space  :)

Ha ha, yes, they have to squeak as that's what she's interested in.  She's a terrier and likes to hunt so a squeaky toy is great for her.  Funny enough she doesn't hassle cats or many other pets anymore, although will go ballistic if she sees a rabbit or mouse in the fields.  She's a little minx though and has to be kept on an extendable lead at all times so she's never a real threat to anything.  I imagine if mice had middle fingers, she'd see a lot of them.

It's a huge hurrah for crafting space.  I need to make it more comfortable and homely still but it's such a great size.

Thank you for the options for cheap dog toys.  I'll check them out and the Beyond the bowl group.
