Decent company most of my family use them. Had 1 call out so far and arrived very promptly (obviously a third party breakdown company). Always have discount codes. Best one at the moment is LOVETHENHS Would definitely recommend. Just changed my vehicle on the policy and they waived the £5 additional fee.FTB - April 20201

Uswitch offer Startrescue plans (Which? Best Buy, June 2020) with a £30 excess per callout, with up to six callouts per year allowed. This reduces the annual premium by £30, so the top Startrescue plan (4 Star Defaqto Rating, would be 5 Star, but 4 Star due to the £30 excess I assume) costs £29.56 as opposed to £59.50.
I have only just taken out this policy, so I have no experience of using the company.0 -
I've been with this company for at least 6 years, had a call out once about 5 years ago & it was all dealt with very efficiently. Just got my renewal in & it's just over £40 so comparable with many now.1

Been using them for about 8 years. Only had to call on their services twice but on both occasions they arrived quickly and provided good customer service. I cover 2 cars on their 3 star policy which includes home breakdown and the renewal this month was just under £50, so less than £25 a car. Never been charged for changing car details on the policy and their customer service responds quickly to emails.1

By the way. I'm pretty sure I took out cover with startrescue 8 years ago after it was recommended in the MSE guides. I'm not sure why the current guide is saying that startrescue is a new addition with little feedback?0

Older cars over 10 years old can be a problem as they have a clause in the smallprint that says if they consider the car to be worth less than the recovery or repair you have no choice than to scrap it and pay for any additional costs yourself.

In 2 years, I have called Start Rescue once for a warning sign on the dashboard which turned out to be a tyre pressure issue. This year I received an email telling me the card I used had expired and couldn’t be used for auto renewal. I hadn’t done my car insurance and wanted to check whether there was an offer there first. After week I got a phone call. I said I always checked and they said that if I found a better offer they be happy to match it. When I went back to the email, I saw they’d already made me a loyalty offer. A new experience - loyalty rewarded!1

Do they attempt to repair at roadside? As i seen on another forum that its mainly RAC and AA that attempt repairs.0

Can’t fault them. Prompt callback when contacted via app when stranded on country road in dark with heavy rain. Arranged for taxi to take family home while I waited for rescue vehicle to arrive. Kept in touch throughout.0
