Private parking ticket advice needed?

wmat983

Just after some advice, approximately 3-4 years ago a parking ticket was received in the post. It was in my name as the car was registered in my name although it was a shared vehicle. After speaking to others which had access to the car figured out it was my partner. I need to respond to court letting asap so was just wondering if there was anything I could/should do?
Thank you in advance for any replies!

If you read the NEWBIE sticky it will explain what you have to do now. If you have received an N1 claim form from Northampton CCBLC what is the date of issue please. If you tell us that, then @KeithP will be along to give you some deadlines and links to the standard defence template.3

What 'letter from the court'? A Claim form, or a Judgment in Default if you ignored a Claim form? Please check, don't guess or call it a letter.
Which parking firm?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I need to pay £476,Is that for one single parking event? How have they broken down the £476?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If you tell us that, then @KeithP will be along to give you some deadlines and links to the standard defence template. With a Claim Issue Date of 22nd March, you have until Monday 12th April to file an Acknowledgment of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an AoS, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an AoS, you have until 4pm on Monday 26th April 2021 to file your Defence. That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.4

Have you moved recently and failed to update DVLA with the address on your V5C which is a different department to the driving licence?1

4 PCNs at £80 each? Can't be £100 each, not with that total sum.
Anyway KeithP has pointed you in the easy direction of how to defend it. Not difficult, but very important to do!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
