Nationwide BS statements changed to paperless, without being requested

With lloyds & Halifax I find it very easy to order a paper statement if needed,
on the other hand Co-Op and Barclays I find it allot harder to order one lol0 -
I have one of my accounts sending paper statements, CT and gas / electric; the latter company I don't trust as far as I can throw them but that's a saga in itself. Everything else is online.
Royal Mail have my address as a normal one (building and flat letter), the electoral roll and CT have it as the Scottish flat numbering system (building, floor and side of building), only one CRA has twigged and say I'm on the ER. Opening bank accounts can be awkward and I would sooner not wait for something to be posted out to me.

I totally agree... I was merely pointing out the annoyance that even though we try and be green (by not getting paper statements through the post), sometimes it is inevitable to avoid them (and that is annoying). In my experience (when I applied for a Russian business visa), the Russian embassy wanted 6 months of my bank statements that had to be mailed by the bank (and not just printed in branch)!colsten said:
In that case, you simply request a one-off paper statement, assuming your bank actually does paper statements at all (some don’t). Or you use a different document - e.g. Council Tax bill, Driving Licence, Tax Code notification etc etc.s_r said:And sadly (and annoyingly) some times only a paper statement from the bank suffices... especially when applying for visas, most embassies never accept a printed PDF statement! I am sure there are other instances as well (especially when being used as a proof of address, when only a paper statement issued by the bank would suffice).Such occasional needs are not a good reason for receiving a paper bank statement each and every month.1 -
If you wish, you can use this to help you work out how many trees you are spending in your life on bank and other statements

Yeah maybe banks can use recycled paper for their documents/statements (Unless they already do it)
that's why most bank use double sided statements instead of single sided like the used to,
It saves on paper-cost as they will have less to pack
