( think that you should do as the suggest.
Wouldn't that go against the advice of contacting PPCs directly?

I do not know, would it.

If the only reason for contacting them is to give them the PCN reference to aid its cancellation, then I would advise it is OK.  You won't know this until you phone.  The normal advice on the forum is not to contact PPCs as they try to persuade you that you should pay and are rude and obstructive.  You never know, you might get someone who will help you.  Provided you are ready for them to try to persuade you to pay and are resolute, go ahead.

But if you do phone them, be careful you don't answer any of their questions designed to trick you.

E.g. the wrong answer to a question "didn't you see the signs when you parked?" would be disastrous.

It reads as though Iceland want you to 'appeal late' to Excel.  DON'T.

Just forward that email to Excel and tell them, see below, please confirm you are cancelling this as Iceland require you to do.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So instead of contacting Excel I decided to contact Iceland again and tell them that I'm not happy speaking to Excel directly as they have been a nuisance for some time and I'd rather they contact Excel and confirm that the PCN had been cancelled.

They emailed back saying they have already requested for the PCN to be cancelled and will follow up with Excel and update me when it's done. Thank you.

Just check the Excel website which should give you the current status of your parking charge. Check it whenever you want from time to time over the next few days to see if there has been any movement with it.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

So the Excel website is showing the PCN as still being valid. I also received what I thought was a demand for payment of £160 from Trace regarding this PCN as it has the same date from back in 2019, however I noticed the PCN number has a different last two digits, the rest is the same. Looked very closely to the image and it is the same date as the other PCN that Iceland have asked Excel to cancel.

Basically the original PCN they came back to me following an "appeal" on my behalf from Iceland that was submitted without my knowledge was for the one ending 37 although I contacted them regarding the one ending with 47. They sent an offer for £20 for the one ending 47 however my subsequent appeal to Iceland CEO was with regards to the one ending 39, which they say they've asked Excel to cancel.

What are my options here? Go back to Iceland again regarding this? Should I just give it some time and then contact Iceland regarding this in a couple months once this other one is resolved? Or should I contact Excel and ask them to reinstate the £20 as there were two PCNs when I believed there was only one that I was in the process of appealing and did not realise that the last digit was different?

Not sure. One was at 6 or 7 pm the other was at 11pm. Didn't know there were two. Remember that letter I received for the £20 reduced fee. There were two of them, sent out to me on the same day. Didn't realise they were difference because the wording was exactly the same and even the PCN number was pretty much identical except for the last couple numbers.

Should I contact Excel or just leave it, wait for Iceland to cancel one of them and then get back and say they haven't cancelled the ticket and get them to recheck?
