Reverting Back to Sky+ HD from Q - Sky refused.....

Hi,
I recently "upgraded" to Sky Q. I'm still in the cooling off period. I hate the Sky Q interface and, more importantly, so does SWMBO....
The whole upgrade experience has been a nightmare with contradictory info being given at every turn and nothing in writing when I've asked for confirmation of discussions with customer services.
I've asked to cancel the Sky Q and revert to the old box. Sky have flatly refused to do so without cancelling the entire subscription. I can't revert to the old box/package.
I'm at the end of my tether. I don't want to completely lose Sky but they seem to be trying to force me down that road.
My view is that exercising my right of return in the cooling off period would be to revert to the original package rather than lose the service entirely.
Has anybody experienced the same issue?
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks!

Not sure of it's "legality" but you aren't the first to run into this problem.
The fitter who recently changed my dish/LNB for HD+ box told me that he had heard that such repairs by Sky employed fitters will be stopped once the pandemic is over ,and that there will be a big push to convert all to Sky Q1 -
Push... The exact word the the last Sky person used in my conversation... "we're pushing the Q boxes and my manager refuses to revert you back".brewerdave said:Not sure of it's "legality" but you aren't the first to run into this problem.

Does anyone other than the OP know what SWMBO means?0

I am guessing it's She Who Must Be Obeyed' (from 'Minder' I think - long time ago). In other words, his wife.0

Or was it Reggie Perrin?0

Basically Sky do not sell Sky+HD any longer, and haven't done so for a while since Q came out. Its like saying you were on the Basic package, moved to Entertainment and trying go to back to Basic. Not an option, they don't do it any more.If you want rid, use your cancellation period to remove the Q equipment and maybe consider other options. A lot will depend on the channels you watch. If you only watch the BBC and ITV for example, pointless paying Sky for that, they're on Freeview.1

And i think sky q is great, its now got voice commands its much easier, get rid of the wife and problem solved.0

Personally I think it is far better and easier than the the old Sky+HD interface once you get use to it.Niloticus1 said:I hate the Sky Q interface and, more importantly, so does SWMBO....0
