Former Owner still connected to my phone line

HI all,
I have been asking BT to initiate the disconnect and reconnect process since the 22nd February ready for the April 17th however it has just now come to light that the former owner has set the 1st April as the end date with her supplier EE. This means BT will not even initiate the process for me until the 2nd as the line is still not mine.

Is there any way this can be moved on a little quicker? I did not have this issue with other utilities (i.e. Gas and Electricity).

When are you taking ownership of the premises?
Former owner has the right to keep the connection until completion.

Have you moved in ??or have you actually taken ownership of the property .

I took ownership and completed on the 8th March. But delayed the actual move to ensure I had simultaneous connect/disconnect.

On this post you complain that your "date for connectivity has been given as the 7th of August", so you already seem to be in a much better situation than you were.
In the meantime, presumably you can use the existing owner's broadband service until the end of March. After that, use some form of mobile connection until you get a broadband service and send the invoice for the mobile service to the previous owner as it's her fault you won't be able to get a broadband service until the middle/end of April even though you completed on 8 March.
