Hi all,
Has anyone recently used a firm to pack and move them when buying? What was the cost?
We did years ago and was best thing we ever did!
I know area and bedrooms affect price, also distance travelled.
We will be staying within a few miles of where we currently live.

Depending on the firm etc you're looking at anything between £500-£1k.Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool.1

Also depends on house size.
Our quote for a 3bed house is ~12000 -
I have budgeted 3k just to be safe 😬 for a 4 bed to include packing and dismantle/reassembly.
7 years ago a 3 bed cost me about 800 so not sure now haha
Will get quotes once have house sold etc0 -
A couple of years ago we had a quote of £1600 to pack a 2 bed house, move 25 miles and unpack into a 3 bed house.
We decided not to go down that route and packed ourselves (which really didn't take that long) and hired a man with a van and a couple of lads to do the heavy lifting. Cost us £300 for the van plus the cost of some boxes and some bubble wrap.
The lads were great and had the van loaded up in an hour and unloaded again with everything undamaged and in the right room in an hour.1 -
1k for each one my last 2 moves. Around 20-40 miles, one a 4 bed + 2 garages to a 3 bed, the next a 3 bed to another 3 bed.
London/Essex.
Not much in the way of white goods, but at hell of a lot of stuff.
WORTH, EVERY. PENNY.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*5 -
Last time we moved (about 3miles) I hired a transit van for less than £100 (cheap as my employer hired on my behalf using their commercial account with the hire company and deducted from salary), and did it all ourselves enlisting the help of our in-laws. Being less than 3 miles we did it in 3 - 4 trips, however........
NEVER. AGAIN. I'll happily spent £1k next time!7 -

We will be staying within a few miles of where we currently live.I had three quotes. Two at £1750 one at £2300.3 bed plus garage plus shed.3 mile move.I'm down South hence I suspect the difference between quotes at half the price of mine, and mine. Same for anything involving labour.1 -
I paid £1500 for a man (and his buddy) and a 3.5 tonne luton to move about 380 miles.1

Thanks everyone.
I'm in Kent so think prices will be fairly steep 🙃
2 kids, 2 dogs, bad backs - will not even attempt a self move haha!!
