Yes I am waiting as well not heard anything from EDF apart an an email saying your switch will take place soon
i am trying to get my account details from EDF as I need to stop paying for my gas meter as I have had an Air source heat pump installed so no longer use gas now0 -
Sealate said:I have yet to hear from EDF. DDs are still being taken. Fair enough you might think. However, and I would like MSE to investigate this, on going into the GNE account I notice that my standing charges have increased such that I would pay £113 extra per year for these charges which have never been notified to me and would backdate to last November. It is easy to do the comparison as we still have previous bills. This is surely illegal or at least along the lines of mis-selling. I will contact OFGEM but they never actually do anything for individual customers. This is where we need the power of MSE.0

Have you actually got details of which Welcome tariff you're going to be put on and how does that compare with GNE.? The DD may well have to change if you were in debt .
I'm still waiting for any detail from Edf - hanging my hat on the promise that I won't pay more.New emails post DD cancellation (not by me though edf say it was me) say I'm now on a more expensive tariff - though variable v1 looks to be the most expensive transfer tariff, and the text below is unclear as maybe its still the same tarrif but with non paperless surcharge"I can see that we have taken over the supply at your property on 13 April 2021. Youyr current tariff is " Welcome Green verial v1".
*Electricity- unit rate is 16.90p and standing charge being 18.27p.
*Gas unit rate is 2.802p and standing charge is 22p
I have checked and confimed that your payment method is Cash Cheque monthly currently. You can change this to Budget Direct Debit once your accountgoes live with us.

As far as I can tell, EDF are putting everyone on expensive tariffs and taking their time about it.
Once EDF eventually get round to "converting" us so we are actually customers, we can then choose to shop the market for a competitive deal elsewhere. This means we have paid 3 (or more months, but 3 so far) at the extortionate "conversion" tariff as we cannot move to a market-tariff elsewhere until the switch is complete.
OR, we can stay at the "conversion" tariff and trust that when September arrives, the overpayments are refunded by EDF so that we paid no more.
This latter option is rather putting a lot of faith in EDF to do as they told OFGEM they will do. Even if EDF honour that commitment, presumably we only get the rebate up until September and then are stuck on the "conversion" tariff while the rebate process takes place. No doubt that will also be several months, as it keeps people trapped with EDF on the high rates.
I also understand that if we leave EDF before September, then the "no more expensive" commitment does not apply.
Seems like EDF have come up with a complex process, that clearly sounded good when made as a commitment to OFGEM, but actually a ruse to get us paying an extortionate rate for either several months while the switch is processed, or several months while the rebate is processed.1 -

so I wonder if you will get a final bill from GNE up to 13th of April rather than the start of February
If it turns out my own EDF tariff is more expensive despite EDFs promises then Im immediately moving away from EDF unless they reduce it so in line with their promise - the potential issue is that they still could be billing everybody from the start of february though so theres been a period where I couldnt avoid paying the more expensive tariff

Perhaps the following clause from my EDF welcome letter 12 April 2021 resolves this issueYou'll soon receive a closing statement from GNE - this is not a request for payment and you do not need to take any action. It will show a breakdown of your energy usage with GNE up to 31 January 2021 followed by your usage from 31 January, on your NEW EDF PRICES, up to the date we set your account up on our system. Not too sure who is billing 1 February onwards but the tariff seems to be EDFs from this date1

My account is saying the next bill will cover 13th April onward and is asking for a meter reading
The email about the cancelled DD has a link to set one up but then shows me "Sorry, upgrading to Direct Debit is not available to you. Please contact us if you require any further information"
Later dialogue says I'll be able to set a DD up once I'm a customer but doesn't clarify when that is, or whether I'll have been charged a higher tarrif in the meantime.
My complaint via resolver hasn't got anything more coherent from them and appears to be answered by offshore staff

OK so how things are going to work seems slightly clearer now from the last two posts
Lets hope the billing is on the right/cheaper DD version of the tariffs & not the more expensive non DD versions
I also guess they will not be transferring any remaining GNE credit balances until these final GNE statements are generated0 -
I seem to be a little bit further on with the account set up than most.My account is now fully set up.I had to wait for the account to be fully set up, and then I could change the payment method (originally at higher tariff as put on cash/cheque) to Direct Debit. Once the Direct Debit was set up then any mention of a bill date has disappeared! I originally had a bill date of about the 13th April. It appears that once you have a Direct debit you only get billed 6 monthly! Also, there was a bit with the account balance, which on setting up the direct debit has now disappeared too!The section on meter reads also only seems to have the last meter read entered and no room/space for anything thing else - so no list of previous meter reads (so just as well that I always have them written down).I also have no idea if I will be billed from the take-over date at the DD tariff or the cash/cheque tariff! I would hope the DD tariff - but who knows?!I am not impressed with their website!!I still have no word of previous balance with GNE.But, I do have success with the warm home discount! I had emailed EDF to ask when it would be applied as I had applied with GNE. I have received a credit to my EDF account for the £140.So it looks like one step forward (warm home discount) and two steps back (no previous credit and no billing in sight!).I haven't received anything from GNE as yet i.e a bill/statement
