Any wedding is a time for celebration and the expense of that and the reception ought to be a secondary consideration for the happy couple even if they end up footing the entire bill, so swallow your reservations and worry about the cost when it's all over. Then, when you reflect on the day in years to come, you can rest assured that you did the right thing.
