Bought a few bits this morning. Now have £65.23 left but unlikely to need anything else but won't move it to the Bulk Fund until after the weekend just in case I find we need something.

Declaring at £469.64 for April, which is - ok. Unambitious, but OK. It was the first full month we've had DS3 back, and I really didn't know what he was likely to cost us, but his diet has improved no end since he was last with us for any length of time. He's eaten most things without demur, and been happy with a cheap L!dls Margarita pizza when he really couldn't face what the rest of us were eating - usually fish. Phew!
So, onto May, which for us is a 5-week month; I've kept it at £500 for 5 adults & we'll see how we go. Payday is actually Friday but for practical reasons I'll have to start the accounting tomorrow, otherwise I'd need to go in two directions on Friday as there's no butcher at the market then.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)3 -

Turns out my prediction last week was overly pessimistic, and I've managed to come in under budget at £428.97/£440Debt free since December 2015. It can be done5

Well I managed to keep under my target for the month £408/415. I am surprised because it includes Easter treats and having DD home from uni until the middle of the month. Have set the bar lower for May.2

£570.74/£550
That's 2 high months in a row and now my mum is staying with us for a couple of weeks. My OH hasn't been as strict with his workoputs lately so I have been able to swap in some non-meat protein in the form of beans etc. Will do that as much as possible but still need to keep his meat consumption pretty high and will struggle to feed my mum cheaply.
She doesn't like curries which are my go to cheaper & easier meal, she doesn't do middle eastern or african flavours, she doesn't do vegetarian etc. all the cuisines that I actually cook alot
The lack of snacks and alcohol was definitly making a difference as having had a couple of weekends socialising I'm seeing the difference in my grocery spend - i will take the socialising though!!
I also went to Lidl without a list on Friday as i needed to use my £10 voucher, but did mean i ended spending a fair bit in Tesco locally yesterday.
I spent a meagre £1.75 on bananas this afternoon which makes my new total £78.07/£120 and my average daily spend £2.89.June Grocery Challenge £0/£250
