Spent £3.00 in M*rks on nice bread and a beef tomato and am rather wincing at revealing my amateurish efforts in light of the posts above this one; have said to myself firmly that "honesty is the best policy", but still.
Anyway that makes my total £66.87/£120 and a daily average spend of £3.18 which is still okay and the freezer is half full while the fridge is absolutely cram jammed so that's all okay for now.5 -

Morning / afternoon all!
Don't worry @goldfinches we all do what we can with our resources. I constantly remark to myself about how envious I am of your deals, so you see, we all have someone else's ideal we're chasing after.
Also @PipneyJane I meant to say congratulations to your husband for getting a new gig and bearing through the pandemic without a job. It feels terrible to be out of work and no prospects.

I have a few expenses to declare. Yesterday I remembered that OH renewed our subscription to Who Gives A Crap toilet paper on the 1st of the month so that was £36.00 spent there. That'll last us for another roughly 6 weeks and he's changed the sub to be every 3 months instead of 2 months. That'll be fine because we have a huge back store from when he was getting the sub just for himself while I was stuck in the US waiting for my visa.
Yesterday I went shopping to get items we were totally out of or only had 1 left. £16.31 spent at Waitrose for milk, olive oil, yellow & red onions, blueberries, strawberries,, bananas, a zucchini, eggs and some mini cheeses to take with us on a trip this weekend. Curiously they were totally out of garlic and a few other staples I wanted to get.
Next was M & S where I spent £3.50 on a boxed/prepared salad because Waitrose was out of the one I liked. M & S was totally out of oatcakes which was the main reason I was going there too! I'll swing back around there later today since I wanted those for traveling snacks tomorrow as well.
I also can't find OH's receipts from stuff he's bought so I'm just going to estimate about £35 that he's spent over the past few weeks doing random milk top ups or buying apples, 3 for £10 fish, desserts, etc from M & S.
So, £90.81 accounting for recent and past spends.
That means we're currently at £339.10 / £350.00.
Colour me surprised! I thought we would have been over by now. We did a lot of stocking up this month like buying doubles of laundry materials, stocking lots of oat bars due to a sale, the aforementioned toilet paper, etc. Next week I was planning to pick up a veg and fruit box from the organic store a block away that will be £15. I know we'll also need more milk by then too. We're also down to a few dishwasher tablets so we'll need to get more of those too but I'll try to push that to this weekend and head to Lidl for a cheaper option.

£51.91 spent today, at L!dls (had to be dropped off early to collect my van, nothing else open, so had to take refuge in there until the garage opened! Luckily I only had a shoulder-bag) the bakers and W8rose; I've got a small medical procedure on Monday, have to have a PCR test tomorrow, then isolate for the weekend, so I shan't be able to get to the market. I still have around £50 left and next Friday is pay day; not declaring yet as there's bound to be some catch-up early next week with bread, bananas etc., but I'm thinking I should be able to stick within the budget this month. Next month is a 5 week month for us, so dropping it slightly will have to wait until June.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

@PipneyJane congratulations on your hubby getting a job. Well proud I'm sure.
Oh dear another £52 in Asde today. More yoghurts, mousses and soups for our elderly man that's still poorly. I also got comfort and I love Surfs coconut bliss laundry liquid, 47 washes for £4 something... got home and realised its only 3/4 full!!!! So that is going back.... any of you know any good deals on liquid laundry or should I go back to powder?? Can't decide,... I'm off to read my book... keep safe everyone XMortgage free September 2021. Narrowboat brought October 2021

Thanks @JingsMyBucket for the encouraging words.
The news from my neck of these woods is that my bike is currently being restored to working order thanks to the government voucher scheme and £110 from me (both brake assemblies had been removed by an enterprising thief as well as the rear carrier and sundry other small parts).
When I've got past the wobbles and feel sufficiently confident I plan to cycle to various outlying bargainous wonderlands during the late spring and early summer so do watch this space for more deals and probably moans and groans about aches and pains too!"She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

As things have opened up a bit more, I've spent a fair bit more on petrol this month than I had imagined. In terms of grocery spend, I've done quite well, but I expect that petrol spend will take me over by the end of the month. From May onwards, I'll split those back into separate budgets - a sure sign that things are getting back to normal.
I'm currently on £329.06/£440, but my big shop is always done on a Friday, so I have two more to do before the end of the month, which will almost certainly push me over budget.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done4 -
