I thought the fitting process for baths was
    get into position.
    Fill to get the loadings
    fix to stop it moving
    Test it drains.

How did it get as far as fully fitted without a drain test?

With a steel bath apparently you don't need to fill it up like acrylic baths. yes I got it in place, fixed it, and plumbed it in, all of which was an absolute nightmare in such a tight space. I tested to make sure the water was going down the drain, but didnt notice a few mm of water pooling up. I just fitted it completely level as advised. To be honest I dont even know if tipping it a few mm towards the drain would do the trick. I cant help but feel its the moulding of the bath creating a puddle

Again, I'd ask you post a pic so we can all visualise the issue , a picture paints a thousand words and, all that.

There's nothing to see as I've cleaned the stain, so its just a few mm deep water, a patch about 30cm squared just before the plug hole
  • Provided the plug is at one end and not in t'middle, and provided there is no way you'll be standing near the plug 'ole, then something you can try - out of scientific fun as much as anything - is to spray that patch (when dry) with a multi-surface polish containing silicone.

See if it drains better   (I'm wondering if there is a fractional slope there, but it's been overcome by surface tension.)

    Ooh, can't wait - sooo exciting... :p

I'm still betting that the "completely level" is just slightly out - presumably it was done using a mass-market spirit level?  How accurate do you think these things are?  How accurately do you think it was read?

Seriously, it's not rocket science, just shim the feet at the head end of the bath!

Why are you betting that? As I said, it's perfectly level, checked with a decent Stabila level, and confirmed with another level, both tried in both directions to make sure.

Are you asking me how accurately I think it was read? I read it myself! And checked it again before posting here.

Honestly I dont think raising the legs at the back is going do the job, I think the bath just isn't moulded correctly

I'm just going by the laws of probability.  Installer errors are more frequent than manufacturing errors, particularly in the case of a high-end product like a Bette bath.  Also in terms of simplicity of remedy, it is presumably easier to try shimming the head-end than to remove the bath and send it back to Germany to be checked for a manufacturing error?

Well it sounds like the only option you have is to go back the people that supplied the bath and complain. How long have you had the bath for?

Yeah, it might be worth a shot, just a hassle and I only have so far I can go before it looks wrong or leaves much of gap to fill with silicon between the rim and the tiles
