For tar spot removal, I use stuff called TARDIS and it's amazing.
But if you don't want to buy a specific product, WD40 on a rag works well too

In that case forget about all the waxing rigmarole and just get the Sonax BSD as I suggested and use it as a quick detailer after your main wash. Spray on and buff off and I'll guarantee you'll get loads of beading. You can even use it as a drying aid, ie, after rinsing but before you dry the car spritz each panel and wipe off with your drying towel of choice.Arsenal2019 said:Hahahahah! I just want it to look fresh and to have the water beading . It’s a 69 plate car, so would I have to go all out at the minute-? The paintwork is still good condition1 -
Keep it simple, 'wax on, wax off', not to be confused with 'paint the fence'Arsenal2019 said:Hi,
Can anyone please explain how to wax your car?1 -
The wife heard WD40 was good for stainless steel in the kitchen.Biggus_Dickus said:BOWFER said:

I have autoGlyn tar remover to remove tar spots- and it works a treat. However, there are some spots which simply do not come off with it! And I leave on for 3-4 mins0

Try something stronger, I've never found the Autoglym stuff much good.. Somebody mentioned Tardis earlier which is probably the strongest you can get hold of, I use Carchem Glue and Tar remover.Arsenal2019 said:I have autoGlyn tar remover to remove tar spots- and it works a treat. Another one for Sonax BSD, easy to apply and wipe off. Usually I spray on a panel or a microfibre and spread onto a panel then take off with a buffing towel. Collonite is a great wax, goes on really well on a good prepared surface, only needs a thin layer, dry to a haze then wipe off. Good protection.

This is a very long thread of people that are clearly passionate about the subject matter.
Can someone explain to me why? Really, why? My car gets washed when it rains, no cost, no effort. What is the benefit of anything else?1 -
