How long are people generally waiting for Ryanair refunds?

I finally had an email from Ryanair on 12th February agreeing top give me a refund for my flight cancelled in October 2020 - they said they would pay this in "due course" by sending me a cheque in the post. I haven't seen anything since. Has anyone else had a refund agreed this way? How long did you have to wait for it to be paid? Is it worth chasing?

Was this for a flight booked via on Online Travel Agent?  There have been many reports of people waiting a significant amount of time for cheque refunds in this manner.  Have seen a couple of similar posts to yours but have never come back and updated, so we don't know if they are still waiting in hope, or have eventually received their cheques!
  • Yeah it was via an online travel agent. I had a refund for the accommodation part from the travel agent some time ago, but nothing for the flights yet. I'm not currently desperate for the cash, so I don't want to chase if it's just going to clog their systems up, but I also don't want to just let it go and risk never getting it!

6 months for ryanair tho had already received from bank via chargeback. Have spent both monies with equal pleasure tho will be quite happy to refund either if requested. However as this was 3 months ago im of the opinion it wont be but you never know.

Flights cancelled last May, still no refund although they tried to claim they'd issued it at one point about 5 months ago.

You should have kept the second refund to one side, as inevitably Ryanair will be looking for this back.

  • I waited just under 2 months between submitting my Customer Verification details to Ryan Air and receiving the cheque. I booked through Last Minute, but was told to claim the flight cost back from Ryan Air... However, I was only told I needed to do this 6 months after my holiday was cancelled.

Thanks - this sounds very similar to my situation. I shall wait another month before chasing it up.
