Settling a debt with PPC

Hi there, I am a Newbie and I have spent the last couple of days reading threads on this forum - an incredible resource! Apologies if this has already been answered.
My case is simple. I am bang to rights, I parked at the Fistral Beach Car Park (managed by Initial Parking LTD.) last summer and forgot to pay the meter.
I missed the PCN arriving from Initial because it went to my parent's address where my car is registered. I have only just discovered the letters. That was 7 months ago so I have obviously missed the 28 day appeals window.
In September a subsequent letter arrived from Debt Recovery Plus asking me to pay £170.
There has been no other letters since.
Thanks to this forum I now know that I have nothing to fear from Debt Recovery Plus. I am more than happy to ignore them. I understand that they are powerless. I also understand that I do need to look out for any letters from Initial Parking Ltd threatening court proceedings, and not ignore those. And I also need to update them of any address changes over the next six years in case they do decide to seek a court judgement so I don't miss those letters.
My question is this - If I don't want to spend the next six years worrying about missing a letter from Initial Parking Ltd, and I don't have the energy to fight this, how and who do I pay to settle this debt and get on with my life? I really don't want to pay Debt Recovery Plus, but I do want to settle the debt in a satisfactory manner. Can I settle this with Initial Parking Ltd? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Initial parking cannot sell on the alleged debt , they would breach their DVLA Kadoe contract if they tried , so the alleged debt stays with them , initial parking !! So yes , you can try a negotiated settlement , but it's likely that they will bounce you back to Drpl or onto a legal firm instead
So to answer your question , you can try to settle with initial parking at any time3 -
The Fistral Beach contract between the scammers and landowners is dodgy.
The car park is very long and it takes a long time to get from one end to the other when busy.
They use ANPR which has proven to be unfit for purpose and banned by the UK Governments for use in council car parks.
Nobody here will suggest you pay, but it is your money.
If you intend to pay, I think you are on the wrong forum.
The scammers may never try court, but if they do, you should still be able to pay the original charge at the LBC stage.
Other opinions are available.

There is no such thing as a £170 parking ticket. All DRP are is a circus clown adding £70 ....
YOU NEVER CONTACT OR PAY DRP .... they are an unregulated bunch who live in the sewers
Despite all their cloud dreaming rubbish DRP are a useless, powerless money scammers
Fistral is famous for these scammers. You now wait to see what Initial Parking Ltd do, They could pass it to one of the daft legals we see on here but even they have to by law give you 30 days to respond and their claim will be the same
SERIOUSLY, you must ignore DRP, they are money scammers and 100% POWERLESS.
You do not want to finance money scammers so they can go on to threaten little old ladies with their rubbish .... DO YOU ?5 -
I don't want to spend the next six years worrying about missing a letter from Initial Parking Ltd, and I don't have the energy to fight thisIf it's taking 7 months to get hold of letters going to your parents' house because you haven't updated your V5C logbook with the DVLA (£1,000 fine possible), I'd be much more concerned about speeding fines or council parking penalties - they will carry much more financial devastation than any poxy debt crawler letter. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yes, it was an oversight and this situation prompted me to update the address on both the V5C and my drivers licence this week to my current address. Thankfully there was nothing more serious awaiting me at my parents address.Umkomaas said:I don't want to spend the next six years worrying about missing a letter from Initial Parking Ltd, and I don't have the energy to fight thisIf it's taking 7 months to get hold of letters going to your parents' house because you haven't updated your V5C logbook with the DVLA (£1,000 fine possible), I'd be much more concerned about speeding fines or council parking penalties - they will carry much more financial devastation than any poxy debt crawler letter.2 -
I know you are probably right. I hope to apply for a mortgage in the next couple of years. I have visions of seeing those plans go up in smoke over a missed CCJ.. At the same time, I feel a moral obligation not to fund these scammers.BrownTrout said:no one in their right mind spends 6 years worrying

Absolutely, I have no desire to give DRP a penny. My question is whether I can circumvent DRP and just pay the PPC to end the waiting game.beamerguy said:

Thank you, I appreciate the insight! I don't hold out much hope of being able to speak to anyone sensible if I call Initial Parking. Would a letter be the way to go?Redx said:Initial parking cannot sell on the alleged debt , they would breach their DVLA Kadoe contract if they tried , so the alleged debt stays with them , initial parking !!
