Can't seem to find an email address for ESA claims, just the phone number I called earlier. I wonder if I send the letter through using the link for sending sick notes it'll get to the right person?

There's no email address. It wouldn't help sending it through your journal because ESA have no access to this. You could send it through the post.

Of course there's no email address, that'd be too convenient wouldn't it? I've just found the postal address for sending medical evidence - Freepost DWP ESA 26. Does that look right?

The number on the end of the FREEPOST address varies depending on where you live.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

To the best of my knowledge, there's never been an email address for ESA. I have no idea if that's the correct postal address either sorry.

I think the only way to know the address is to ring and ask.
  • Thanks for the replies. I got this address by going to the ESA fit note upload page https://www.gov.uk/send-fit-note and it's at the bottom of the page. It says to use it if you need to send any other medical evidence other than a fit note.

    That sounds good then.

  • I wish there was more push on the forgotten ESA claimants, i am on ESA through no fault of my own for a problem with my shoulder and a thumb joint that because of Covid hs now taken 8 months to get treatment (and still ongoing)
I get the standard £74 a week, single, no dependants, owned and paid for house, don't have 2.75895 kids or 2.5 legs and the rest so £74 thats it nothing more

Yet UC get a £500 payment, UC get £20 a week extra, i had an injection in my hand 2 weeks ago and had to isolate for a week because it lowered my immunity so had a bigger risk of Covid, likewise probably due a second injection in the shoulder soon so will be the same again, yet when i called because it is not actually due to a positive test i do not get the extra payment.
Whoever at the DWP thinks anyone in 2021 can live on £74 a week is on another planet, i had to cash in a small pension to subsidise myself unil i can get back fit and find a job.

    No £20 a week extra
    No £500 one of payment
    No £500 isolation payment
Come on DWP, £74 a week???? really

It's very little to live off, i totally agree with that. The £500 payment is for the claiming working tax credit only, it's equivalent to the £20 per week UC standard allowance uplift for the next 6 months.
You weren't entitled to the £500 isolation payment because you weren't working when you were advised to isolate.
I'm assuming by all of this that you're not entitled to any UC possibly because of savings/capital of more than £16,000? UC standard allowance currently pays more than ESA assessment rate but your ESA will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.
Do be aware also that your ESA is only paid for 365 days unless placed into the Support Group.

Exactly this.  If you are eligible for UC you will get the extra money.  If you are not, because it is a means-tested benefit, then it is because the DWP deem you to have other means to live (not taking into account actual living costs, of course - and benefits rates overall are an entirely different issue).
