[But now I think about it, I'm not getting the SG payment despite it being several months now so someone's dropped the ball somewhere.]

NsESA Support Group should be £113.55 per week.
Thanks, yes that's definitely not what's going into my bank!

After reading some of the threads here it sounds like "Someone's dropped the ball" should be the DWP motto. I'll give UC a call later just to follow up on my journal message from this morning and to see if they'll send all the info over while I'm on the phone.
It would be hilarious if people's lives didn't depend on them!  I hope you get somewhere with it.
  • Thanks. Out of interest how long do UC normally take to reply to things in the journal? Today is the first time I've used it.

I think it depends on what the message is and which option is was sent under.  My work coach replied to things mostly the next day, but other things that went to the case manager I had responses the same day - BUT those were things they didn't have to check and mostly none that needed anything doing, to be fair.
  • Thanks. I might hold off until tomorrow then before I chase up for a response as I only sent the message first thing this morning.

I asked a question on my daughters journal yesterday and it was answered within 1 hour.

You will not get the ESA Support Group rate until the 14th week of the ESA claim.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Thanks, yes it's 24 weeks now (first time I've actually counted because I've not long realised).
  • a small update. I called UC today just to follow up and ask them if they can confirm the WCA decision to the Jobcentre so that my partner can get her ESA payment. After a little time on hold I was told that UC "don't communicate with other departments" and all I needed to do was send the decision letter to the Jobcentre as proof. I offered to do exactly this when I spoke to the Jobcentre and they told me it had to come from UC and not me. I explained this and after a bit more time on hold the UC have left a note for our case manager to sort it out and then get in touch with us. UC also recommended we email a copy of the letter to the Jobcentre anyway - just need to find an email address now. I tried calling the Jobcentre again but it was 9 o'clock gone and I gave up after half an hour on hold.

Such a palaver to get one piece of paper to the right place. Am I right in thinking that the Jobcentre can see everything that's in our UC journal? Because there's a copy of the letter in there.

What a nonsense, that really is ridiculous.
I don't know that ESA can access UC information - I suspect they can't. There are other posters who may be able to confirm.

  • Can't seem to find an email address for ESA claims, just the phone number I called earlier. I wonder if I send the letter through using the link for sending sick notes it'll get to the right person?
