11 months of trying to ring useless Lloyds Bank without success.

Options
In April 2020 I wanted to change my current account into a joint account so I rang Lloyds.  After going through endless menus and entering my account and sort code  together with voice recognition I am told they are not taking any phone calls by automated message.   I then go to the branch and am told I can't make an appointment.
Randomly over the year I ring Lloyds and go through the above and am told the same thing and get cut off.
Today some 11 months later it is no different as they are still not answering the phone. WHY NOT????
I don't want to trek into town to get turned away at the door so how can I contact this useless bank to see if I can make an appointment at branch?

Why not just open a new joint account? If you really don't want your existing account then you can transfer that across

Can be done but not at Lloyds.

    • Visit us in branch - You can apply for this account by booking an appointment at your nearest branch. You can book an appointment by calling us on 0345 300 0000 (+44 1733 347 007 from outside the UK). Lines are open 7am - 11pm, 7 days a week. If you aren’t an existing Lloyds Bank current account holder, you’ll need to bring Proof of identity (such as a passport or driving licence) and Proof of address (such as a water, gas or electricity bill dated within the last 6 months). What to bring for identification.

    Wow, ok that's pretty poor.

When I looked at their website it said:

Existing customer? Open a new current account or change your account through Internet Banking

That's the number I have been ringing for the last 11 months.  Lloyds don't seem to have home workers taking calls or any form of call centre for the best part of a year.   I want to stay with Lloyds for reasons I won't go into but they are not contactable which is strange for a leading bank.  Even if I ring the branch I get the same message and am then cut off  .Anyone got a back door number?

Thanks, I will try that number tomorrow as they are now closed but I suspect after listening to the menu it is for business customers only.

I was sent another number after sending them a secure message just now via social media

"So that we can support those in the most vulnerable situations, please use the numbers below if your enquiry is urgent. Our call wait times are much longer than normal.

    Call us on 0345 602 1997 "

Guess what, I got the same message that they are not taking calls.
