Does anyone know of an app to track renewal dates

Options
Hi All, I wasn't sure which forum to post this question in as it applies to everything.  I am looking for an app that I can enter all my renewal dates into for things like driving licence, passport, mortgage renewal dates, EHIC cards, Gas/Electric etc etc.  An app that will then send me alerts when an expiry date is approaching and ideally that I can view all items in a list so I can see the next item that is due to expire at the top so I can prepare mentally for it (i.e. doing research in advance, considering who I need to contact to service boiler again etc etc).  Does anyone know of anything that exists that can do this??  I have been searching for nearly 2 hours and signed up to a few different apps but non of them really give me what I am after.  What do you all use??  Any help appreciated (p.s. as an Accountant I would prefer it to be NON excel based if poss).

Generally I just shove such things into the calendar app on my mobile phone.

    A calender
    Diary
Or as mentioned calender app on your phone.
All 3 are easy to do but the calender app would be my option.

Like the others, I put everything in my calendar app, and set a reminder for a suitable date.

    Google Keep is another option.

I keep track of stuff like this in AceMoney. The Schedule function allows me to enter them as recurring payments. They then appear as future transactions in the relevant account, with an estimated amount. When I look at the account, I see it coming up and take appropriate action. (For example, my motor insurance needed to be renewed on 24 February. In late January, I saw it coming and researched available policies.) Once the actual payee and amount were known, I edited the payment details appropriately and marked it as paid. I'll do the same again next year.

I assume that other similar programs (for example, MS Money or Money Manager EX) offer similar functionality.

For anything motoring based, driving licence, V.E.D. and MOT etc, reminders can be set up on the Honest John website.

I use a spreadsheet with the headings
    • Date (every sorted by date
    • Account (you could make this "topic")
    • Message (e.g. "0% BT ends)
    • Done? (the item no longer needs any further attention)
I usually hide anything over a year old. I check it check it at least monthly and it  keeps me on top of what is upcoming.  Some might say use a calendar but I prefer to use that for appointments/places to be where as this is more useful for keeping on top of "the next set of things".

+1 for google calendar on your phone. I run my life on reminders right now (they tick over to the next day until you mark them as done).

Calendar on my phone. I set reminders based on how far in advance I want to take action. For example, car insurance is cheapest 3 weeks ahead of renewal, so I set a four week reminder with "cheapest this week!" in the title so it gives me a week to take a look at the comparison websites.

If it's for car related things then most of the apps like Fuelio allow you to put servicing reminders and the like in there
