I agree with the above. The only addition/caveat I'll mention is that you can't guarantee to get specific breeds in a rescue centre - some people need to choose from certain breeds due to allergy issues. e.g. my partner is asthmatic hence why we chose Bichon Frise as they're known to not cast/shed their fur. (Well, they do ... but the cast stays within the fur and only comes out when you brush them. Therefore the dander - I think that's what it's called - doesn't get about the house to cause issues).Jenni x0

Breeds have their own breed rescues so tha tis not a problem.
Puppies are available from rescue. One of mine was 12 weeks when I got him.
Many dogs end up in rescue through no fault of their own.
But many people don't like all the questions a rescue ask to ensure as ar as possible that the dog goes to a suitable home which will be or life. These dogs have already had a bigh change in their circumstances and rescues want to ensure a stable future for them.
A member of my local dog club travelled hundreds of miles to buy a cockapoo ( which is a crossbreed with a fancy name) and soon regretted getting this lively, active, noisy pup. A rescue may have ascertained that it was not the best choice for an elderly lady who was used to a quiet, docile dog.0
