The next thing I get a visit from a policeman as they are saying I am harassing them, so have been advised by the policeman not to communicate with them.
This bit is odd, and suggests to me there is more to this tale.
Why would the police get involved in what is (on the face of it) a parking dispute?

I don’t know what they said to the police, I can only report what the policeman said to me.

he said he would write to them telling them that there is no parking on the shared driveway and they are not to park there.  This was last week but the tenants continue to park on the shared driveway.
    When last week?
They might not have received the letter yet. It would have to be typed up- probably in queue with other letters- signed and posted, probably  second class.
Or still on the pile of things to do.

OP have you contacted the owner?
Yes, I contacted the owner first as I did have details of letting agency. I do now as owner wrote to me giving me the details and informing me he had past on my letter to the agency.
  • Is it for pedestrian access or is thier vehicle blocking you from gettingyour vehicle to your garage?
Shared driveway is access to/from my house and garage.

When I spoke with them they said “what’s the problem, there’s no problem” basically not taking me seriously. On another occasion I spoke with them they told me I was the problem.
yes, I am waiting another few days to see if things improve as they should have got the letter from letting agency as that would have been a week then.
We live in a similar shared access property, we have neighbours who we are all friends with use one of the two access points to park their car. It doesn't affect us too much but at time is a nuisance as we can comfortably get on and off our drive. I sympathise with you as its not something you should have to put up with.

Make sure to send a formal complaint to the letting agent each 2 weeks if they continue to not restrict the shared drive. This will force the letting agent/landlord to take action and can mean they may not get a reference for a future tenancy. Don't communicate with the tenants as that the LA/LL job and you dont want a dispute on file or at least until they leave.
Thank you I will continue to do that. Today I was totally blocked in for 2 plus hours as two of their cars were on the driveway as they did car maintenance. I have taken photos as evidence .

Have you checked yet whether your buildings insurance includes Legal cover?

Assuming there is actually something in the deeds/covenants banning parking where they’re parking...

Years back my parents lived in a house at the end of a cul-de-sac down a shared drive. Someone started parking a campervan on the shared drive (not their own driveway) which was very hard to get past. Friendly words didn’t work. My mum paid a solicitor to write that person a letter saying they were in breach of whatever rule it was. Hey presto, campervan disappeared.

That was a homeowner though. Not sure whether you’d address any such letter to the tenant or landlord when it’s rented?
