Holiday to Spain

By the end of May I will have had both injections and had the three week rest period, will a holiday in June be viable. What is the comparative position in Spanish resorts, are they likely to be accepting UK visitors.

It's anybody's guess. There are still lots of restrictions in place at the moment. Spain vaccine rollout is quite slow so restrictions are probably going to continue for a while.

The Spanish government were reported as saying they would not open their borders until 70% of the population had been vaccinated.
They are a long long way from that figure at the moment.
However loosing 198 million euros per day of tourist income I would think they would open things up as soon as they could.

The Murcia region where I have property are only just Into vaccination of the 80+ age group, no way unless visitors are double vaccined, possibly vaccine passported and 70% of the local population double vaccined will that area open up. I have a cheap flight booked for September 8th. Not even 70% certain that will happen.

For some reason, people in France and Germany seem far more reluctant to have the vaccine than we have been in the UK.  I saw a news report from Germany where a facility with the capacity for many 100s per day was only getting about 50 people attending.  If that is a reflection of the attitude in other EU countries it could be years before they hit 70% coverage.

Same region I have my house.
I am giving it a few months before booking anything.

Depends on what kind of holiday you want. If you are happy renting a villa/apartment and self catering then you might be fine but it looks like a lot of the hotels, bars and restaurants in resorts are going to take a long time to recover.

The first thing to happen will be internal travel to see how the virus deals with it. Keep your eye on the information about that.

The EU took a long time to bid for vaccines and went to the end of the queue, then they took an extra long time to pass the different ones for use. Then they all decided on different strategies. Now many countries are doing it for themselves. Follow what is going on in Spain.

Watching the Spanish forums and boards, the news for the country. That should give an indication of how close it is getting.

However travel insurance isn't going to offer cheap insurance when the vaccine has only been guaranteed efficacy for 3mts. So something else to think about.

At the same time spot your prefered airline and hotel so you can get there first.

It might not,  no one knows.
It is a pandemic and no one can predict what will happen.
I wouldn't personally be booking anything until the end is in sight and it isn't as yet.
