    Don't worry @themadvix rant away! -

I lived with my grandmother's furniture for years, because it did the job (even though I disliked it). But I remember my D-I-L visiting once and saying how she admired how everything in our house matched - and that's what she wanted when she bought a house- there was SO little in that house we had chosen (must be 10/11 years ago now)!

Took doggos for a long walk - both disgraced themselves in very different ways, big dog is a pheasant obsessive, and had to do two thirds of the walk on the lead; small dog got into a brief scrap with a labrador. He is a d*ck. But the sun shone and it was a place we've been meaning to walk for ages.
Mowed the lawn - well, pushed the mower over what passes for grass! And enjoyed the snowdrops, hellibore, and crocus flowering.

You mean your grassy area has become a biodiverse haven for all sorts of flora and fauna? 🌈

Unfortunately, @Karmacat, I mean what used to be a biodiverse area of flora and fauna has been churned up by big dogs efforts to keep squirrels out of the garden over winter, so there isn't so much as a buttercup in some patches. I'd rather not have grass at all, (but big dog is very fussy about where he toilets). 'Lawn' was probably a bit of an exageration ;)

Good lord, how have you mowed the grass?! We are in a complete quagmire here! I fear if I tried to mow the lawn I'd either end up electrocuted or having to be rescued from 5 foot down in a swamp by a tractor! 😮😮😂😂

Oh what a shame!  It just goes to show, maintenance is all - including after animals use it!  Hope it recovers.

@Cheery_Daff, if I had tried mowing today, I would have been electrocuted, but after a reasonably dry Jan, it was just about do able.

A good shop at Sainsbos this morning - Nectar prices on humous, tonic water, baked beans, and tortillas; lots of other things on the list were on 'special, and a points multipler plus some bonus points on things that were also on the list.

  • We've got frogspawn! :) DD and I have been waiting to see if our garden frongs would make use of the pond. It's only been in since last spring, and only about 125 litres, but this just made my morning.
