Some people simply can not get on with them due to the bending of straight lines etc. Staff at opticians should have explained all this to you, when you were choosing your lenses, as different brands/types can be better than others. When you sufferr this problem.
But there are way of getting on with them. Not moving you head, just move your eyes helps. You have to find the sweet spot for each distance. Do try and persevere with them as the only other option is a switch to 2 pairs, but you will be forever changing glasses.
Which if you are in a shop/ office environment, is a real pain having to wear one pair for keyboard work, but then switch when someone wants to talk to you at the other side of the desk...
Personally I have worn glasses since I was a Kid. Moved to Varifocals about 20 years ago. Never had any issues at all. Yes I see the bent, straight lines etc, but it does not bother me. And if I get on a boat, I'm as sick as a dog...Life in the slow lane0 -

On Diabetic screening. It is not a eye test in the same way as a optician does. It is basically a picture of the back of your eye. To check it is OK.
