Specsavers Refund

Hello. Please can I have some advice?
Recently diagnosed diabetic and thought it best I get my eyes checked, as my eyes were going blurred when working on my laptop. Had a test and tried to use a voucher from work. Told couldn't use it as my eye test showed I wasn't in the right range? 2 for 1 - told I cant have that as I need distance and a pair for reading/work pc.
Bought 2 pairs and they don't work. The pair for driving are no different to my normal eyesight. And the reading/pc has shadows on the words, I feel eye discomfort and can see lights that are the signs of a migraine. I have tried and tried with them, but I can't wear them. Can I get a refund? I've looked online and their site just says go back and they will help. I dont have confidence if they gave me 2 pairs of glasses I can't wear.

As a Diabetic you are entitled to free eye test anyway.
So what was the voucher from work for?Life in the slow lane0 -
My work voucher was only if you needed glasses specifically for VDU use only.
if you needed lenses for close work and/or distance as well it couldn't be used.
2 for 1 is 2 pairs with the same prescription lenses in each. Not for 2 pairs with different lenses in each.

Firs you need to ask them to check that the specs were made to the correct prescription. We used an independent optician. One pair my husband got his sight was distorted. When they checked a bad figure on the prescription had been interpreted wrong. A new pair were supplied free of charge.
if they are made to the prescription then they need to check your eye test to confirm the prescription is correct.0 -
I have the 2for1 glasses, one for reading one for distance from Specsavers. Used voucher from NHS.1

That may be because both would be single vision lenses.
The OP probably has single vision for distance and bifocals for close work and VDU.0 -
Either way you will need to speak to them. usual procedure would be to check the specs are made up correctly then if not re test.
If I had a px that refused to let me have a look at the situation I would just refund but not sure they have to?
Other problem you have as a recently diagnosed diabetic is that you may have a massively variable prescription. It can be that bad that you test and find -4.00 the px is diagnosed diabetic before they collect and suddenly you recheck and they are -1.00 that is a very difficult situation as no one is really at fault. Tend to absorb the cost myself but no idea who is legally liable

Simple work round is to get Varifocals.
Well without my glasses I can't see. So to see the VDU I need varifocals as I also need to see around the office without changing glasses.
Which is not easy talking to someone with a headset on..Life in the slow lane0 -
But the work voucher didn't cover Varifocals- which is what I have- because I needed lenses for other distances as well as VDU.

As a newly diagnosed diabetic you should not be going for a new prescription. Increase blood sugar will effect the shape of your eyes and it will take some time to setting down with your medication.
When I was diagnosed I was advised to wait at least 6 months from preferably a year before getting a new prescription.
Perhaps arguing that it was inappropriate for them to issue a new prescription might yield a better outcome. You should probably confirm this with a heath care professional before arguing this, rather than telling some guy on the internet told you so.

Varifocals cover ALL distances.
You tell the optician you need them for VDU work. They ask how far away you sit from screen & work for there.
Section 3. Given Zeiss are one of the most respected manufactures of optical lenses.
