I bought 4 new Continental tyres yesterday. Thought that Black Circles was the cheapest, but did a bit of ringing aroud to check. BC was £429, but then found somebody about 4 miles away who was a fraction under £400. Tried out local company in the village, 'just for the hell of it', and lo and behold, £384....Make £2025 in 2025

do they also do fitting?
cheers
Pete
Another vote here for costco,
They supply michelin tyres and kormorran tyres (also manufactured by michelin)
although michelin are trying to phase out the cheaper kormorran brand , but costco can still order them in for you - if available.
their michelin tyres are generally about 15-20 % cheaper than elsewhere.
£1 per tyre for balancing and fitting
I will probably be going to costco on monday , if you post your tyre sizes i will have a look at prices for you"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
happy travels !!

Don't overlook the small independent places either......
I use a fantastic one. Service is great & prices are fine....in fact if you turn up and they think you can get an extra couple of thousand miles out of your tyres they will tell you....if they were less reputable I'm sure they would just do the job and take your money!0 -
A post a few months ago recommended https://www.mytyres.co.uk . Fortunately I haven't needed to use them yet.0

Not too keen on the Michelins though. They are fitted to our lease cars and are popularly known as 'ditch-seekers'. Whilst it may be more of a reflection on the lease car drivers, there has been a campaign to get them switched.0

No mention of Kwik-Fit?? they were the cheapest in our area by far, but they did have the 25% off Dunlops at the time.
btw, don't forget to make sure there isn't an updated tread pattern - I got new assymetrical tyres (SP30) for the same price as the old design by just asking if there were any newer ones out.0 -
Just used https://www.mytyres.co.uk
excellent site to help you choose which are best for you (I chose Bridgestone)- dont forget if you get 30,000 miles instead of 20,000 you have just saved 33%
then phone around local small independant fitters on a tuesday/wednesday pm (when they are quiet) and ask how much to fit per corner- shouldn't pay more than £5-6. be prepared to dispose of the old tyres yourself- the fitters have to pay!
:beer:I am a fee charging WoM Mortgage broker.I now no longer give information and opinion within the Mortgage boards, because a number of posters who, having approached me professionally, agreed my fee-which has been been made very clear at the outset, taken my advice (normally cancelling a [home visit] meeting at short notice) have then approached one of the fee-free brokers on here to arrange the very same deal I have advised.Whilst I totally concur with the ethos of "money saving"- abusing the goodwill of a professional who provides a quality service is taking it too far! :mad:0 -
costco are cheap and good , can be slow if busy, will only fit tyres to rear if buying just 1 or 2 cos they are American and worry about litigation after the ford exploder incidents !! 4x4 blowouts.in US and Canada ].0

I have looked at the web sites and to be honest I can't beat the local guys here. Smaller independents tend to be more expensive and will only stock "cheapie" tyres. You will generally need to ring these guys and order the tyres in advance. You need to take ½ an hour of your time with the Yellow Pages and ring around. Biggest variation I saw was GoodYear Eagles at £60 in one place and £45 15 miles up the road in another.
My advice would be use the Yellow Pages first time and then check using the websites afterwards.
