Oh, and I really get your rounded number obsession. I always plan my DD current account to fall gradually down to £20 by the end of the month. And this month my TV licence DD was £13.43, instead of £13.37 as it's been for several months. Really threw my float out of whack. That's thankfully now resolved
  • Hi @Martico, thanks for reading my diary! Glad you have enjoyed it and have taken some inspiration! It’s great to hit that next £k barrier as you will find next week :)

Me and hubby are currently camped in one of the festival tents hiding from the rain (that wasn’t in the BBC app forecast) and I left my raincoat at home. So I just have a plastic poncho but it’s all plastic and bloody sweaty as it’s warm still.

My plan again for today is to send any left over from the budget to the EF.  As I’m driving today it’ll probably be a decent sum. I am already fed up of festival food to be honest. I really want a salad now! :D

Still really looking forward to Madness. It finishes a little earlier tonight for the sake of nearby residents and I’m secretly pleased, I’m feeling every one of my 44years today! Haha

Be thankful you've got some cover - a friend of mine years ago was living in the south of the US, had a ticket for Glastonbury and bought a tent before getting his flight. It ended up being one of the very wet mid-90s ones. So he got to Glastonbury, opened up his tent for the first time, and saw the note inside: instructions if you need to waterproof your tent...

  • Good morning all. I am terribly sore this morning and ache all through my legs from standing/walking/dancing all weekend so today, I am going to rest and so is my bank account haha!

Today will be a NSD for me. Number 16 of July so far, my target is 18 for the month.  I cashed £11 from Prolific this morning and sent that, plus my usual £1 to CC7.  It seemed to take forever to go that last £100 to the £7k and now it's whooshing down! :)

I sent the remainder from yesterday's budget to the EF so that's back up to £200 now which I will put towards my holiday spending money. There are a few things I need to buy before my holiday too so it will come in useful. There's a little bit in both my accounts so I should have some to add to the EF on pay day too.

This month is the increased energy DD start... so later I need to have another look at my budget and have a re-jig for August pay period. Pay day is Wednesday so I should be able to access my pay slip tomorrow to see what the NI changes have done to my take home. And then I think it should stay the same shouldn't it? I get quite confused about payroll.

Anyway. I hope you all have a lovely day, I will be here smelling of deep heat (other pain relief is available) and doing some leg stretches as and when I am able! :D:D:D

  • I forgot to add this morning, that I bought myself a budget planner (paper one) to help me become more accountable for what I'm spending my money on. I will still use my spreadsheet but the planner (thanks @shell16 for the format) will work out where I am overspending so I can hopefully adjust and make more savings.

I also like to write things down (always have) so I think this will be good for me.

Sorry that you're in need of deep heat and you're sore all over, but glad you had a good time.

For your take home pay, the average increase that I have seen (I work in HR and deal with pay queries) is roughly £22-40 increase in pay, depending on whether or not the person was a higher rate tax payer. You'll definitely see an increase in your pay, but it might not be enough to make a noticeable difference if that makes sense?

I've been on those paper budget planners too, and they really do help 🤗.

  • Thanks @Keedie it's increased by £28 so that's not to be sniffed at :) It covers the Broadband bill haha

It's actually feeling a bit cold today and it's raining (again) so I may have to dig a jumper out... I have a busy day at work and then I have a consultants appointment at the hospital later this afternoon.  We are having friends over at the weekend so I will be busy in the evenings cleaning and sorting to prep for that.

Cashed out £10 from Prolific this morning so I have sent £11 as my PAD to CC7 it's the last £1 of my PAD allocation for the month as it's PAY DAY tomorrow!!  Today will be a NSD for me too.

My Experian report updated this morning and I am back at 999 there too. I know it means nothing but it makes me happy :D

Hope you all have a good day
