    I DID IT!  :)

£14 Prolific cash out this morning in addition to my usual £1 all sent to CC7 which takes me to £6994 - whooooop! Feels good to see a 6 rather than a 7, but I know there's still a long way to go...

Anyhow, I don't think today will be a NSD as hubby is off and we plan on doing something but it will be low spends regardless of what we do as it will be very spendy at the Tramlines festival.

No more in terms of updates, but I wanted to share the news of the £7k breakthrough :)

Aw welldone LMD, I absolutely understand your elation!

  • Morning all! I am a little late with my update this morning as I was doing my survey before work. I couldn't do it last night as I was busy and you can't do the next one until 24hrs after you've completed the last... anyhow. It's done now :)

Yesterday was melty. Thanks @RelievedSheff for the towel tip, it worked a treat :) He's back to his normal self this morning and whilst I am relieved, if he could stop barking at the BG workman over the street I would be most grateful haha.

£1 sent to CC7 as my PAD - nothing else available to cash out on Prolific as yet but as ever, I will be keeping my eye on it!  There should be some surplus at the end of the month in my accounts but with my August holiday and some big birthdays I think I will be better to pop this aside rather than send it to CC7. I don't want to be left short... Today will be another NSD for me, and I hope tomorrow will be too before 3 days of festival at the weekend, where everything always costs a lot.  I will be taking my reusable water bottle for when it's my days to drive.

That's my update done and my break over... back to the grindstone for me.

Do you have a current expected debt free date LMD? You seem to be clearing your final CC at a very good rate. I have a long term savings account maturing in around 18 months, which I will use to clear whatever’s left of my balances by then. The more I clear before it matures, the more I get to keep and put to better use.
It really is surprising how quickly it comes down even with fairly small payments isn’t it? It’s so bloomin easy for it to build up when we’re not fully focused of course, as many of us have found out the hard way.

I’m currently aiming for 27th of September 2023 as the 0% runs out on 4th October. This should allow me to have a good mix of fun money, debt clearance, building up the car fund and having some in my sealed pot.

As long as it’s gone by the time I get charged interest I will be happy

Glad you poor dog was able to cool down, I can't imagine this heat and walking around with fur everyday!

I hope you enjoy your festival, and I agree, it's best to keep some back so that you're not left short and you can enjoy your time away knowing that you're covered.

Sounds like you've got a great strategy @AntoMac.

  • Morning lovelies.  I woke up early today and it's already been quite productive. Today I have meetings for almost all of the day so I am popping now in case I don't get a break later.

£1 sent to CC7 this morning as my PAD, nothing to cash out on Prolific at the moment but I will keep my eye out. Today will be another NSD for me, although I have now lost count so I will need to check the thread update later haha.

6 more days to go before pay day. 3 of which will be very spendy so it's best I try not to spend if I don't have to.  With the NI changes, I'm still not sure what I will take home this month, it seems totally random these last 2-3 months! I won't be able to check until 26th so another reason to keep spending in check.

Have a lovely day all - at least the weather has now broken and we have some cooler air!
