Managed to get some laundry on the line today - I'm feeling quite springy!  I am feeling the benefits of a short week now that we are past Wednesday lunch.  So glad that tomorrow is my Friday...

Just cashed out 2x £5 Amazon vouchers from surveys (and another will be available in the next few days for £10) So I have moved £10 from my bank to my virtual sealed pot. That's still climbing in value nicely :)

  • Today will be a NSD, there will be a trip to the vets but the cost is covered by our monthly plan so that's all fine. (for me, not necessarily the pooch  :D )

Pay day tomorrow and I cannot wait! I'm so excited to clear CC4 now, and crack on with the rest of it. I know I am on a much higher salary now than when I first found this forum, but we had grown accustomed to living to our wages before COVID (and probably way beyond them) so I am now exceptionally thankful that we have reigned it in and can realistically become debt free.

Next financial month is a short one of only 4 weeks so hopefully this time next month the accounts will feel a bit more healthy. That's my theory anyway... In preparation for tackling CC7 with my daily PADs I have set it up as a payee on my bank account, it makes it easier than doing a payment via the app and it comes straight off my balance rather than pending for a few days.

    Happy Thursday

  • No chance of sleeping in on your day off when you have a dog... gives me a chance to make the pay day payments and clear CC4.  Hubby needs to save for his upcoming holiday so we have agreed that we will be fiscally careful in March, which I'm more than happy with.

So, the finance update is as stands:
    CC4 £0 - cleared this morning!
    CC7 £8500 (0%)
Total credit available £67200 12% utilised
    Bills account £2041.64
    Spends account £400
    Sealed pot challenge £917.16
    DFBXmas challenge £4968.80/£8000
    EF £77.12 (House EF £5712.76)
Debt free day 26 May 2023 - 454 days to go at £18.70 per day

We are hoping that the weather will allow us to get a good long walk out with the dog today in the peak district, and maybe some lunch out. It won't be a NSD but pay day rarely is!  I don't have any plans for the weekend except for tackling the ironing mountain which has taken residence in the spare room and maybe some crafting.

Hope everyone has a good Friday :)

@LittleMissDetermined, Fantastic news on clearing another Credit card!

     Debt Free - 04/03/23.  Total LBM August 2021 £15410.70

  • Brilliant news :)
  • Thanks guys,

We have had a fairly decent day and made the most of the early sunshine, the dog was in his element exploring on a new route :)

After lunch we went home and watched a movie and then we have played some board games. All things that make me happy.

We are all a bit snoozy now so I think it will be an early night, hubby is working this weekend so he’s up early and I’ll be cleaning and tackling the ironing. Oh the joys!

Thank you @dg1019, I’d like to think I can, but I need to make sure I have enough “living money” to not fall of the MSE wagon again
