  • Wow that's a very impressive amount, well done! I hope you're going to treat yourself with the birthday/Christmas money at some stage. Happy payday, I still have to wait until Monday 🙁
Thanks, I also have spend round-ups going to this account so that has helped, plus it was interest earning too. (every bit helps!)  I'm definitely going to treat myself! The money will be used for my Black Friday trip away, a mini-break to Scotland at the start of December and spending money for my holiday in January. It will also cover the cost of Christmas so the pressure really is off.

I have been bagging my coins up as I went along and putting them in the bank, so there will be a small 'carry over' of £14.92 in change bags that aren't full under 50p denomination. I don't want to annoy any shopkeepers :D

Well done. That's a massive amount of money :)

Got to wait until Monday for my pay day. Tomorrow for the other half. But he gets paid weekly so gets paid every Friday  :D
  • Well done. You really are an inspiration. Only just noticed on a previous thread where you said you had got over £300 on studies since June. That fills me with hope, as I only signed up with them last month & doing well so far and was hoping it continues. I know some survey companies can dry up after a while, but Prolific do seem a good one. X

  • Back with some good news, we have had our water bill as we are on a meter and the payments are reducing by £13 a month, which on one hand is great, but I personally won't benefit as this is one of the bills that hubby pays :D

Secondly, and hear me out guys... produce at the supermarket has gone haywire. Over the past week I have had bags of salad 'leaves' that have had more stalks and one even had a whole plant in there! And boxes of mushrooms where the stalks have been 3x longer than the top of the shroom.  This is a tactic I am certain of meeting the weight levels without providing much useable produce.  Just throwing it out there to see if anyone has noticed anything similar?  I don't like lettuce so I always get leaves for my salads and we put mushrooms in everything so these are just the ones I have noticed, but there are probably lots more.

That's my good news and my gripe for the day.

We have noticed that a lot of veg isn't up to it's usual standard at the moment. Wondered if it was anything to do with the weather we have had this summer.

Broccoli and Cauliflower in particular seem to be very small at the moment. Still the same price of course!

That sealed pot total is just amazing @LittleMissDetermined! I am so excited to see what I can achieve next year. I wish Prolific would give me the time of day, I'm still on their waiting list.

I'm a bit confused by your 89 months though, that's like over 7 years but I thought your target DFW date was next year or did I make this all up? 🤦🏾‍♀️

    Haha must be a typo! It’s 9 months. I don’t think I could cope with another 7 years @Keedie 😂

  • Good news on the water bill.
I know exactly what you mean about fruit & veg prices. I love Broccoli, but they always want to weigh it at the market where I buy it, but it has such massive stalk and we don't eat the stalk, so paying for something we don't eat.   I refuse to buy fruit & veg in supermarkets unless I have to. Certainly won't buy anything wrapped in plastic. Aldi bananas, butternut squash, swede & baking potatoes are about the only ones I'll buy. Everything else has to be from markets or farm shops.

  • I do love to get produce from the market but working commitments and husbands shifts don't always allow.  It's always much better quality though, I agree.
