Have read that you need to show your booking number/ref when you go for your vaccine. I have a text confirming the appointment and it just says where to go and what time. No number on there?

There are different processes and procedures in place across the UK, so if you haven't been asked to present a booking ref/number on arrival, and there isn't one in the text you've received, then your area is using a scheme that doesn't use/require one. It's pointless reading about schemes other than those which apply to you.
If you were invited by text you'll be asked to show this on arrival as verification of your booking/appointment.2 -
As above, different processes in different areas. We had a letter, no one wanted to see it although it said bring it with you, just asked for names at entry point and ticked off list then nurse asked full details for her tablet at actual injection time.

My appointment was booked in with the GP receptionist by phone for the next day. I didn't receive any confirmation at all, and wasn't asked for anything but my name when I arrived. Different places will have different procedures - I wouldn't worry about it unless you've been specifically asked to bring a letter/reference number etc.1

That is true of GP surgeries from what my family/friends tell me they either get a call a few days before or on the day - as they know you have a record you just turn up. However, best to check if you are feeling unsure like the OP as different areas, venues have different systems. 119 is the number in the link I posted earlier but as you said with the gp's it's not required as far as I can tellCaitykinss said:My appointment was booked in with the GP receptionist by phone for the next day. I booked online on the accurx webite as a result of a text message from my GP surgery.Later that afternoon I received a letter from NHS inviting me to book an appointment.I went along to the vaccination centre which was at a local leisure centre.I have no idea if this is classed as a mass vaccination centre (MVC) or a GP led clinic. After being greeted and pointed towards a set of desks, I was asked for my name. I showed them the NHS letter I'd received and that was all they needed.I agree about not worrying about what you read about other centres. If you haven't been asked to be ready to 'show your booking number/ref' then it's highly likely that you won't need it.People seem to be looking for logic across everything covid but I'm not convinced there is any.At my appointment, after I'd had my jab and was sitting for 15 minutes, I was told to put my phone away. Even though I had it on airplane mode as I always do in GP and dentist waiting rooms.Apparently, it had been OK the day before but not on Thursday.A friend went to the same place on Friday and there were people actually making phone calls - not just amusing themselves with Candy Crush. If anyone can make sense of that...0

I was just checking if you needed to bring anything (ID). I will have my phone on me so will just show them the text message.
