MarkN88: Apologies for the slur, but your posts came across as a touch antagonistic. I am here for advice and perhaps to discuss the merits or otherwise of the DLA / PIP benefit. I have no sense of entitlement etc I was merely raising a question about the intricacy of a benefit and the possible mis-information that I received.

Paula94: Would you mind providing timeline and details of your application ie. new PIP application / invitation to apply for PIP / voluntary application from DLA to PIP etc. The date you first registered the application / date PIP2 received by DWP / assessment / decision etc etc. It might help others "in the queue" so to speak. If so it might be worth creating a new thread.

I don’t think one can draw any conclusions from other people’s timelines, as areas will differ.

Newly_retired: Information detailing regional discrepancies would help strengthen any case for the current system being unfair.

poppy12345: Citizen's Advice have just replied also confirming that the award will be backdated to the start of my claim.
Go back to your local Citizen's Advice, tell them that you have been told that their advice is incorrect, give them all the relevant info (such as your are currently in receipt of DLA and advised a  C of C), and ask them to confirm the advice with their central Expert Advice Team (EAT), request that you are sent the EAT email advice.

Listen to Paula94,  your energy is better focused on understanding the PIP activities, descriptors, the points scoring process, the assessment process, and the concept of majority of the time and reliability in PIP.

Alice_Holt: That is exactly what I did do, bar requesting email advice. The chap I first liaised with had to refer to "specialist advice" and come back to me later, which he did. I later drew his attention to reference material to the contrary and he is taking the matter up further with the relevant team. As for understanding the intricacies of PIP, I spent over a year researching and preparing for the application. Experienced advisors concluded that I am eligible for some 42-54 points on DL of which 27 were firmly evidenced, and 12-16 on Mobility, again strongly evidenced. Just a waiting game now unfortunately, 19 weeks and counting. It will be interesting to find what the assessors come back with.
