The financial ombudsman said they couldn’t help as not in their remit and the motorombudsman say it’s not a garage so who is it that stops companies from being able to do not pay out for damage they cause because they think the price is too high?? anyone know ???0

Write a proper time line of events because as it stands I'm not sure you have a case as I cannot see when the damage occurred.1 -
How much was your van worth? Hows much did they pay out for the claim? How much did you pay to buy back the salvage? What damage did the van suffer in the accident and what additional damage occurred at Copart?
Your mistake was allowing the tow truck to take your van away, you should have had it taken home or safe premises you can control.0 -
the damaged occurred whilst at coparts so was taken from me just before lock down and then came back in june and the extra damage was obvious as soon as i saw it bumper hanging off etc
(orginal damage was a small scratch and dent in arch )
They said the quote for the additional damage was too high parts had to come from france in covid! so was expensive0 -

You would lose in court as you bought it sight unseen.0 -
Good Morning Mr and Mrs,
The engineers have confirmed the estimate provided is fair and reasonable, I have chased Copart for their response today and I have given them a deadline of the 15th June to have a response if not I will be raising for this to be reviewed by management.
Thankyou
this is what i got then they back tracked and offered less than the estimate!
I think i have a case?0 -
Who knows you're drip feeding and not giving the full story. I've tried to help you, good luck.1

If they’ve admitted liability and said that they would pay but then backed up surely i have a case? i’m thinking it shouldn’t matter that the van was mine then theirs (as i still have the papers and always have ) so surely she was always mine? and the fact that they admitted and said the estimate was fair but then offered less isn’t that a case? this what i’m trying to find out where do i go to find out and who do i need to contact to see if i’ve a case?
thanks for your help 😘 i am grateful0 -
So, you had the van and it was written off by the insurer as "beyond economical repair".
What was the value of the van before the accident?
What were you paid as the insurance write-off value?
What did you buy the van back for?
Then, you bought the van back and got an additional £1k for the extra damage.
