please help van damaged whilst in coparts
Options
My van was taken away and written off for a puddly birthday of damage so i said i wanted it back and it came back and my written off vehicle sustained more damage whilst at coparts , kindertons don’t want to pay the £3000 damage (that i’ve since had fixed), they offered under £1000 for the damage so i went to the financial ombudsman but they’ve just come back and said it’s not something they deal with so where do i go now????

Did you buy it from the insurance company or from Copart?0

Also, why are you talking about being paid for the damage? If the car was a write-off, you get paid out for the pre accident value, less excess, less salvage.0

It was my van and my insurance company took it away just before lockdown then said it was a write off and i said i’m nope but nothing i could do about that! as what they say goes, so i said i wanted it back to fix, it then came back with more damage than it went off with £3000 of damage so they have offered money but not the amount that it cost to fix the damage that was caused whilst at coparts compound. The financial ombudsman said it’s not in there remit to deal with so wandering if anyone can point me the right direction.🙏0

i’m not asking for money for the original damage but for the damage that was caused afterwards0

If you bought it unseen you technically bought a vehicle from the insurance company you didn't view. Their vehicle sustained damage when they took possession of it and you assumed it was in the condition it left the accident site.0 -
Couldn’t due to lockdown it came back as soon as it was lifted0

Yes this has been going on since then!0

Kindertons/coparts have admitted damage and have said they would pay but only offered under £1000 and damage was over £30000
